Great location, very quiet and a short walk to sea front and railway station. Nice outdoor space with plenty of seating. Bed very comfortable and the bed linen wonderfully fragrant. Property has a utility laundry room, ideal for families. Good size kitchen with many utensils and a large fridge freezer. Front room has plenty of seating.
The owners have retained many of the original features in the coving and ceiling roses, with high ceilings in all rooms nicely decorated.
Parking permit provided and we found it easy to park in Victoria Terrace which is accessed via Station Road. Plenty of eateries locally and supermarket short drive away. Ideal for couples and families. Would definitely recommend this property.,

Whitley Bay is an up and coming town with some lovely shops.
Whitley Bay is an up and coming town with some lovely shops. It also has easy access to Newcastle and the surrounding area by road and by Metro. In the summer Whitley Bay is busy but in the winter it is much quieter.
I have visited this town many times while visiting my daughter. On this occasion my visit was not a holiday; I was helping my daughter to move house.

Whitley Bay is ideally place for walks along the coastal path both North up to Blyth and South down to South Shields and the pretty Souter lighthouse.
Be sure to try to time a visit to St Mary's lighthouse for a spot of seal spotting.
The walks along the promenades down to Tynemouth are all on the level with plenty of eating and drinking options.
If time allows be sure to get the tram into Newcastle Central and the train from there to Durham to visit the marvellous cathedral and castle

I loved the walks along the coast to the lighthouse and to see Spanish City. In the opposite direction it is nice to walk along the coast to Cullercoats and on to Tynemouth. The walks are peaceful and the little shops at Tynemouth are lovely. There are plenty of coffee shops along the way and fish and chip shops if you get peckish. Parking is relatively cheap in Cullerboats but you may need to wait if the car park is busy, for someone to get chatting to.
Location is lovely, my room had a sea view. Decoration throughout was clean and fresh. Staff were lovely and made you feel very welcome. Breakfast was tasty and large portions. Car park five minute walk and cheap at £3 for all day parking. Location and transport great we stayed here as going to a gig at St James's Park in Newcastle and other guests were going to Stadium of Light in Sunderland for a gig. Lots of shops, pubs and of course Spanish City within walking distance.
We loved the location, the room was large and spacious and very clean. Loved the fact it had a fridge and a microwave although we only stayed 1 night this time so didnt use them but was great to know they were there. Owners were brilliant and let us check in early which was very kind of them. Breakfast was great and gave my husband extra coffee which was great of them to do so. First time in Whitley Bay and will most definitely be back here and will come to this hotel.
The Royal Hotel is in a great location for experiencing Whitley Bay. Easy to get to transport routes to Tynemouth or beyond and if you get a sea view room, the views of the coast are stunning.
Sea View Rooms are a great size, nicely decorated and extremely comfortable. The huge bay windows also really help the fantastic view of the coastline.
Staff are Friendly and. Very helpful and the included breakfast is fantastic.
Everything was tailored to a comfortable stay. The furnishings were good quality, there were lovely toiletries rather than the wall mounted pump-dispensed shower gel often seen in hotels, the decor was lovely and everything felt fresh. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, great coffee, and little touches like jam in jars rather than plastic sachets made my stay at this little boutique B&B feel like a treat.
The location was very good. Close to the sea as well as the shops. Road was nice and quiet. Nice to have an off road parking space. The message sent about the keysafe was easy to understand. The sitting room was nice and bright. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the main bedroom was nice and dark, whereas the back bedroom, although nice and quiet, was not very dark in the morning.
Excellent location in a very peaceful country environment but so quick to get to Newcastle, Whitley Bay etc. Also perfect for staying a night before sailing from Port of Tyne. Very warm welcome from the charming owner (and helpful with directions!). Very nice room. Very clean. Good value for solo traveller but excellent value for two or three occupants.
Great apartment, very well equiped with all the essentials provided for a comfortable stay.
Excellent location for exploring Whitley Bay, Cullercoats, Tynemouth, Newcastle, Seaton Deleval and a great base for exploring the whole of the North East region.
The location is perfect for the beach and the sweet spot between Whitley Bay and Tynemouth.
The decor was interesting and there was enough space for the three of us.
The apartment is well enough equipped and the addition of a dishwasher is very welcome.
Paul and Lee were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. They went out of their way to ensure that we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Also, best breakfast ever. Free on-street parking on the Esplanade extremely rare in Whitley Bay.
Really enjoyed our stay, really lovely hotel, very comfortable and extremely clean, very welcoming and friendly staff, great location, breakfast was excellent....if we are ever in the area again I won't be looking for anywhere else to stay.
Staff were really nice and helpful, room was clean and spacious, was quite warm but fan provided! Not sure what else you want from a traditional seaside hotel, ticked all our boxes.
Rooms were lovely, everything spotlessly clean, friendly hosts very welcoming. Would definitely recommend. 5 🌟. Dog friendly too which is a bonus. Breakfast was lovely.
My stay at Windsor hotel was quite relaxed, very good deal for the money, and staff was very friendly and promptly ready for any questions or drinks at the bar.
Spotlessly clean, with all the comforts of home, close to a beautiful beach, good eateries, and bars, with the Metro to Newcastle, just 10 minutes walk away.
