It felt comfortable straight away, from Nicola's friendly welcome to the beautiful room & bathroom. Everything was quality....furniture, fittings & products. Nothing was a bother, putting our things in her fridge, providing water bottles daily, refilling tea bags & biscuits daily. Oronsay was in a perfect position to explore not only Alnwick but the surrounding areas. Alnwick is a beautiful market town with lots to see & do.

The owners were very friendly and extremely helpful about parking, restaurants, and scenic drives in the area The breakfast was exceptional, with a lot of choice The room was beautifully decorated with Asian art work. The sherry decanter was a nice touch.

The host was very welcoming and friendly and gave us lots of tips about trips in the area. The beds were very comfortable and the whole feel of the place was cosy and homely. We had a peaceful and relaxing time and slept really well. The carrot cake in the cafe is the best I have ever tasted! The views from the bedrooms was delightful. Our highlights in the area were the evening walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh, Alnwick Castle and Bamburgh castle. We wished we could have stayed longer!

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at the castle gate. The owner is super friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and cozy. Beds are very comfortable - I slept really well. The location couldn’t be better either. 3mins walk to Barter‘s Books and 5mins walk to the castle. 10/10 recommendation! :)

Very clean, exceptionally close to all amenities of alnwick. Tracey was super helpful with any questions we had and gave us lots of tips and trick s for things around the town. Would highly recommend this guest house!

Beautiful location, super friendly staff, great room for a very reasonable price. The breakfast was brilliant as well. Would happily go back and I recommend it to anyone visiting Alnmouth.
