The location was excellent, sea views across the bay from the rooms were amazing. The breakfast was very good and the service was excellent. The rooms were beautiful, nice and clean and had all that we needed.

The room was comfortable, warm and freshly renovated. Check-in and out was easy, and the hosts communicated brilliantly. The location was great. Able to get down to the beach quickly; 10 - 15 minutes walk (we walk quickly...)--albeit there is a fairly steep hill to negotiate, but you have to come up the hill if you want to get anywhere at all from the beach, so it's unavoidable. I'm sure you can easily get a taxi back up if necessary.

Such a cozy and wonderful stay right near the beach. I would highly recommend the St. Merryn to anyone visiting Cornwall! The owners are so kind and hospitable, offering a ton of helpful advice from what bus lines to take to the best hikes in the area. 10/10!

We enjoyed staying at Thurlestone House very much indeed for the 10 nights we were there. John and Linda could not have made us more welcome and were a fountain of knowledge both on the local area and wider Cornwall so were always willing to help with travel advice and where to go and what to see. The room was very comfortable, quiet and a nice size for the two of us. Breakfasts were very good indeed with a wide choice and always served with a smile. We would have no hesitation in staying at Thurlestone House again when next in the St Ives area.

It was a quiet location. Very cozy and comfortable. Good bus route to st.ives. hosts were very helpful and friendly.

We were made to feel most welcome right from the start when our host spotted us looking for their sign and proceeded to tell us that we were indeed at the right place. He opened the door, helped me with my bag and promptly checked us in with a friendly explanation of the amenities and what to expect the next morning for breakfast. Then he escorted us to our room and made sure that we were happy with the accommodations before resuming his duties downstairs. Our bed was very comfortable, the room was very clean and the breakfast was delicious. All of our interactions with our hosts were warm and helpful. Lastly, we were very pleased with the proximity of the property to the local train. It was just the right distance away, but a short enough walk with our bags so as to make it easy to get to and depart from the property when we had to catch an early train on our day of departure.

We had such a good stay here! They were incredibly kind and let us check in early when we arrived, and the breakfasts there were also great. The room was very clean and comfortable and the location was fantastic!

Beautifully decorated and very spacious room. Very friendly and lovely hosts who gave us recommendations for where to go in the area. The breakfast is served in the room and very nice - the hosts prepare it with care for details. Short walk to the centre of St. Ives.
