The friendliness of the host family was amazing! They were very warm, constantly took care that I had all the necessities and showed me the best spots on the island; even helped me with the bike renting and the drive back to the airport! The room was also very clean and equipped with the essentials.

I've never felt more at home at any accomodation honestly, everything was clean, the owners are super nice, the house and the location are amazing, and the price is very affordable. Every evening the owners and guests get together for dinner and drinks, which is really fun. The staff speaks enough English that it is not a problem to stay there with no Japanese knowledge at all, but depending on the guests the conversation in the evening may be in Japanese.

Offering city views, Guesthome Machiya Koza is an accommodation set in Okinawa City, 8.2 km from Nakagusuku Castle and 8.6 km from Katsuren Castle. The owner was exceptionally nice! She helped me with the nav system in my car and was always around to answer questions!

Featuring a garden, terrace and views of garden, Guesthouse Koa is located in Miyako Island, less than 1 km from Sunayama Beach. This was a fantastic stay in a guesthouse, with very friendly hosts - especially Atsushi-san and Pao-san! It's very welcoming and well fitted out, with plenty of advice for what to do and where to go on the island. A bonus was freshly roasted coffee every morning by Atsushi-san. They have a lovely island dog, Iru-chan, who quickly made friends with us after some scratches, 10/10 good boy. We also went on the snorkelling tour of Yabiji, which was a great half day out with some fantastic pictures and all round fun.
