Here you will find plenty of pubs, restaurants and if you venture a little further to Tooting Bec Common you will come across Tooting Bec Lido - the largest swimming pool in the United Kingdom. Wimbledon is just a short bus ride away and there are plenty of bars / pubs / restaurants to visit there as well as the world famous Wimbledon Tennis Club. Nearby there are historic places of interest such as Merton Abbey Mills, the former Liberty & Co. dyeworks on the bank of the River Wandle, William Morris also used the Merton Abbey Works area for his Morris & Co. factory and the ruins of 12th Century Merton Priory can also be visited.
