If you like peace, nature and history, then this is the place for you! The cottage is tucked away in Jackfield with no passing traffic and is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful break. Country pubs serving food within easy walking distance. Close to all Ironbridge Gorge attractions.

Having lived in and around the Gorge for 25 years we love sharing our enthusiasm and passion with our guests to eat, drink, shop, discover and explore all things Ironbridge Gorge. Exploring Shropshire with our two dogs Hugo and Gerald is our weekend go to, walking is a fantastic way to discover the Ironbridge Gorge World Heritage Site, whether you are a keen hiker or just fancy a leisurely amble there really is something for everyone. We are very lucky here in the Ironbridge Gorge and beyond to have some incredible country pubs and restaurants, and we always try and finish a walk with a visit to one! We created Drake Cottage as a home from home for our guests, with the little touches that mean it’s equipped with everything you need so you can enjoy a quiet and relaxing time away. As independent hosts we manage all aspects of the day to day running of Drake Cottage ourselves, from responding to your booking queries, carrying out all of the cleaning and maintenance, and our favourite bit of this personal touch, making recommendations on what to see and where to eat. Living a short drive from Drake Cottage we are on hand for a hassle free stay. Drake Cottage is at the end of a quiet, no-through road and adjacent to the River Severn. Maws Craft Centre is a 2 minute walk away with shops, gallery and cafe. At the end of the road is the Boat Inn which has regular live music nights. It is a rural area, steeped in history in a world heritage site. Car is the easiest, due to the remote location, however, walking and cycling are also a very popular pastime within the Gorge. The Severn Valley way is just behind the cottage and runs from Ironbridge to Bridgnorth. Cross over the footbridge and you can turn right to Coalport or left along the Silkin way past Victorian Town (Blist’s Hill) and through Telford Town Centre and beyond. 🐾 Welcome to our Doggie visitors! We are delighted to welcome dogs at Drake cottage where we strive to create a welcoming environment for all guests, including those with furry friends! 🐶 The Ironbridge Gorge is very dog friendly with most pubs, restaurants and shops welcoming dogs. To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all, we do have a few requests: 🐶 We would prefer it if "paws stayed on the floor" so please do not allow them upstairs or on the furniture, and if you have a particularly furry furry friend we’d really appreciate it if you could clear up hair before departure. 🐶 Please scoop your poop from the gardens. There are poop bags in the kitchen which can be disposed of in the green bin at the front of the cottage. 🐶 Please do not leave your dogs unattended in the cottage.
