Accommodation for 5 people plus a child camp bed can be added upon request. Situated in the beautiful quiet farming valley of Harwood Dale about 7 miles from Scarborough, Woodpeckers Cottage is a self-catering annex to Lindhead Close, where the owner lives on site. Offering accommodation on the ground floor (Bungalow) for up to 5 people; comprising 3x bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and lounge / dining area. Parking available on the drive for two vehicles. A working farm is next door and the cottage looks over the fields with horses grazing. Woodpeckers Cottage is the perfect place for a relaxing quiet break exploring Scarborough, Whitby, Filey and North Yorkshire Coast and moorland including the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Abbeys, Castles, Cycle ways, Walking, Beaches etc.. Children and babies are welcome (please bring own cot and bedding). There is a garden and sitting out area with BBQ facilities. Refurbished in Autumn 2018 with many new features and furnishings, including new kitchen, beds and complete decoration.
Woodpeckers cottage offers a warm relaxing retreat for those who want to get away from the bustle of life! Dee runs the booking and maintenance side for her mother who lives on site, and who's property it belongs to. Self-catering so all food must be brought in, although a welcome snack is supplied for first visit.
Situated in the idyllic farming valley of Harwood Dale, it is surrounded by beautiful valley views and is within 7 miles of Scarborough, 12 miles of Whitby and 20 miles from Filey. York is just an hours dive away. So there is plenty of things to do in and around the area. Woodpeckers Cottage is so called after the resident woodpecker family that frequently visit the feeder each day! Great for watching birds feed! It is great for cycling, walking, driving around and exploring the beaches on the Yorkshire Coast and North Yorkshire Moors and Dalby Forest too.
