Staff were lovely very helpfull, great location, food was excellent, buffet breakfast which was great and the evening meals were great too... especially the "Gowan Curry" will definitely go back but book one of the deluxe rooms as we had a family room (only one left) with a double bed and bunk beds which was great if you had kid's. bed was comfortable but small.dog friendly hotel which is good. Staff were lovely to our dog.would highly recommended this hotel

One of the best places I’ve ever stayed in my life! It has all the charm of “rooms above a pub”. The staff are extremely lovely, my room was beautiful (with gorgeous wallpaper and artwork, as well as a small seating area next to the window), the breakfast was generous and delicious, and I enjoyed several evenings with a pint and dinner from the pub. Having an iron and ironing board, as well as a hair-dryer, in the room was a great bonus! And the location is perfect for enjoying all Ambleside has to offer (in the village centre, close to the main bus stop in the village, as well as a supermarket, a laundrette, and all the cute shops and restaurants), as well as a great starting points for many walks/hikes. Oh and having dogs around made everyone smiley all the time!

The scenery from virtually any window was superb. The bedroom was comfortable and warm. The staff were friendly and courteous. Breakfast was included which is a bonus. Food and drink available in the pub.

Perfect location. Small but lovely room with everything we needed, comfy bed, nice bathroom etc. Excellent breakfast and evening meals. Friendly service. We will come again.

The staff were friendly and courteous from the moment we arrived. Taking time to explaining n about dinner and breakfast arrangements plus out of hours access to the inn.
