The non-smoking inn is adjacent to the West Highland Way and is ideal for walkers. After a long day spent exploring the region’s magnificent scenery and breathing in the invigorating fresh air, you can satisfy your hard-earned hunger with a delicious meal. Food is served all day and the bar has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere and a real log fire. Great baggage service. Nice clean spacious room.
Drymen
The Clachan Inn has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Drymen. Located around 22 km from Lake of Menteith, the inn with free WiFi is also 26 km away from Glasgow Botanic Gardens. The property is non-smoking and is situated 18 km from Mugdock Country Park. The staff is very nice, even that the bar was busy, they took care of our check-in quickly. The room is big enough, the shower was comfortable and clean. The Clanchan bar is very nice to sit in and closes early enough, so we had a quite night.
Close to everything in balloch. Very central and easy to find. Apartment is beautiful with lovely terrance which we sat out on for dinner as weather was beautiful and warm. Views over the river towards the loch. Apartment lovely inside well decorated and everything you need for your stay lovely touch of wine in the fridge Beds very comfortable rooms light and airy We would return
Took the train from Fort William to spend the night then used the Ben Lomond Explorer ferry to access Ben Lomond the next day, followed by dinner at the hotel and train back to Fort Wililam. Staff were helpful and attentive, comfy room and delicious food. Makes an excellent car-free mini-break, with the added bonus of not having to deal with numpty drivers on the A82 or worry about where to park!
Very friendly and helpful and efficient staff. Special mention to 'Cat', a favourite of our dog Kevin and gave very knowledgeable and useful whisky tasting advice at the bar, brilliant! As our dog was in a stroller, the staff were very accommodating and made eating in the bar / lounge area very easy for all our meals. We would definitely stay at The Winnock Hotel again when we travel through Scotland. Thank you.
The guest house is right on the West Highland Way. We did not have the breakfast offered because we wanted to leave early for our West Highland Way but the guest house offered us a breakfast roll . They had vegan choices for the milk for our tea which was appreciated. They offered a range of DVDs to watch on the TV and a lovely piece of cake on our arrival by our host.Quiet and relaxed stay. Comfortable beds.
Great location, just off the WHW path so ideal for a nights stay. 10 min walk to the pub for dinner. Friendly staff with all the amenities needed. Would 100% recommend
The location was very close to the loch and The Oak Tree Inn and right on the West Highland Way. It was lovely to have the opportunity for self catering during our walk. The apartment was beautifully furnished.
Great location walking distance to cafes, taverns and restaurants. Really clean and comfortable room and fantastic breakfast as well. Our host was lovely and friendly and we would stay again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended
We stayed at Braeside on the first night of our walk on the West Highland Way. This guest house is well situated in the centre of Drymen. It was warm, very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Breakfast at the Drymen Inn was also excellent. The owner of Braeside was extremely friendly and helpful and she had loads of local knowledge.
