Silverstone is just 10 minutes’ drive away. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. I arrived later than my stated time. Not only did they wait before closing, but hey upgraded me to a larger room.

Situated just outside the historic village of Blisworth, near Northampton and Towcester, the Walnut Tree Inn has 11 individually styled en suite rooms, each with its own unique character and charm. All rooms have TVs, DVD players, hairdryers and tea/coffee making facilities. We were returning to the UK for the funereal of my mother in law, and wanted to stay somewhere small, welcoming and homely. The Walnut Tree fitted the bill exactly. A lovely roaring fire to sit next to, lovely comfy sofas to relax on, not too many people around us and caring staff. And a good breakfast. We didn’t have other food butt I have eaten there before and it’s excellent.
