Featuring free WiFi and children's play equipment, The Shoulder Of Mutton Inn offers pet-friendly accommodation in Hamstall Ridware, 10 miles from Burton-on-Trent. Staff were exceptional. Accommodated us even though we arrived very late. Had a lovely breakfast in the morning. They couldn’t do enough for us.

Within the tranquil village of Brewood, this 18th-century, Grade II listed hotel provides sleek and light room with LCD TVs. Lovely pretty location, nice bar and restaurant area. Decor and bedroom was stunning. Helpful staff.

Situated in the small market town of Cheadle, The Huntsman is a country pub and restaurant 16 minutes’ drive from Alton Towers Theme Park. Food was stunningly tasty. Not much choice, but that didn't matter.

Set in a 17th-century building with original fireplaces and oak beams, The Littleton Arms serves local produce on a seasonal menu in its restaurant. The staff were lovely and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and comfortable. The food was fabulous.

The Dog & Doublet is a newly renovated country inn located in the village of Sandon, 5 miles from Stafford. It offers individually designed bedrooms, free Wi-Fi and home-cooked food. The staff, the food, the rooms. Exactly what we booked is what we got. Drinks and Dinner were great. My boys loved the French toast and bacon for breakfast. Some new staff were being trained and they did a cracking job. Great management who made sure we were looked after as well as their trainees.
