Boasting a garden, restaurant, bar and free WiFi, Three Horseshoes Leamside is set in Houghton le Spring, 14 km from Beamish Museum and 18 km from Stadium of Light. This is such a little gem! We stayed in Room 5. Beautifully decorated, thoroughly cleaned, a fabulous nights sleep and breakfast was exceptional (Compliments to the Chef!!). Daryl was very welcoming, as were the front house staff through to housekeeping. You will not be disappointed when you stay here!

Set in Tynemouth, less than 1 km from Cullercoats Beach, The Tynemouth Castle Inn - The Inn Collection Group offers accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a bar. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious.

Set in Hartley and with Whitley Bay reachable within 2.8 km, The Waterford Arms offers a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi and a bar. Lovely hotel room. Quiet and comfortable. Great meals.

Definitely recommend if you wanna stay in Newcastle for cheap :)

Ocean Road Rooms is located in South Shields, within 11 km of Stadium of Light and 16 km of Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art. Clean, simple, no frills, but just what I needed. Hot water, strong shower, clean and comfy bed, quiet. For a last minute place to get my head down for two nights, or was spot on. Free parking around too.
