Aviemore’s various restaurants and shops are just 10 minutes’ walk from the Cairngorm Guest House. The house is ideally located for exploring the picturesque countryside. The surrounding area is ideal for outdoor activities, such as mountain biking, rock climbing, and white water rafting. There are several ski resorts within a 20-minute drive.

We only stayed one night, but overall the house is very pretty and the hosts warm and accomodating. The rooms were very cute, modern and comfy. They had a very cocooning atmosphere. The breakfast was amazing! I really loved the pancakes with fruits, it was fresh and tasty.

Staff are great and the location is perfect. The breakfast was fantastic and they were happy to turn the leftovers into a sandwich for me rather than waste food.

Situated in the small village of Boat of Garten, The Boat House Guesthouse offers free WiFi access and free on-site parking. Nestled in the Cairngorms National Park, the property is surrounded by walking and hiking trails. Landmark Forest Adventure Park is 7 minutes' drive away.

Inside each room there is a TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Featuring a shower, the private bathroom also comes with a bath and free toiletries. Extras include towels.

Contrary to other reviews which I'm sure were posted on the wrong Boathouse, the Boat House Guesthouse, remember Guesthouse, would definitely get my return business. Harry was a delightful host and his breakfast made to order, could not be surpassed. Friendly, clean and helpful.

Located in Boat of Garten and only 45 km from Inverness Castle, Applegrove B&B provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. The property features quiet street views and is 43 km from University of the Highlands and Islands, Inverness and 45 km from Inverness Railway Station. Abernethy Golf Club is 7.7 km from the bed and breakfast and Grantown Museum is 15 km away.

This is a fantastic base for 2-3 days to explore the Highlands. The hosts are wonderful and the breakfast is fantastic. Boat of Garten is a very nice village and you can have lunch or dinner at Armstrongs Restaurant or the hotel - both are a one to two minute walk away. We dined at both and the food is good. There is also a small very good convenience store. Recommended outings and hikes are close by at Loch Garten (fantastic forest walk) and Nethy Bridge village (next to the river). Nethy Bridge is a small village a few minutes drive from Boat of Garten. The Nethy Bridge House (coffee and cake and sandwiches) is a must - wonderful little cafe/ restaurant for lunch or tea and cake. We also went to the Glenmore Visitor Center for nice walks. For golfers there is the Boat of Garten golf club - challenging course with undulating fairways - but very high visitor green fees. You can have a Highland golf experience at the nearby Abernethy golf club (9 hole course) at a reasonable price. We had a fantastic time - highly recommended.

A great location for the town and shops but quiet and away from roads so you can only hear the odd train passing and the birds. John at the inn (on site) was fabulous and even helped us retrieve my daughter's retainer that she had thrown away in her napkin! The lodge itself was very very clean which is always reassuring when away from home. It was well equipped and we were very glad to stay there for the week. Very easy check in and out.

Everything is perfect in The Nook. We had a little problem with the heating the first night, a quick text exchange with the owners and it was sorted out. We can’t fault this smashing house. Immaculately clean, perfectly equipped, great location, huge fully enclosed garden, safe for dogs and kids, with woods on 2 sides, very quiet and peaceful, woke up to lovely birdsong every morning. We’ll definitely stay again.

Great location, quiet and peaceful. The room was cosy and had literally everything we needed, to include a mini fridge. The bed was very comfy and since the area was so quiet, we had perfect night sleeps. The room was clean, bright and pleasant. The owners stay in the house (the room is a converted garage) but they do not intervene unless you need anything. They were lovely and ensured we had a great stay :)

Room got upgraded due to quiet period - great sized room, plenty facilities - kettle/hairdryer/tea/coffee etc. Hotel is in great location for reaching local nature spots such as Loch Morlich / Lochan Eiliean and Lochan Uaine etc - and a short drive away from Uath Lochans and Carrbridge which are well worth a visit if in Aviemore
