We absolutely loved our stay in The Lady Maxwell Room at Buittle Castle. The level of attention to detail the owners have put into decorating each room, designing the garden, and restoring the castle is incredible and makes the experience all the more special. It was so nice to learn from James about the history of the land and their ancestors. There is plenty of parking, the bed was comfortable , it's near some lovely towns with great restaurants and there appears to be a resident peacock. He was beautiful! Breakfast was delicious and the presentation was delightful. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this cute, historic castle in the country. The owner of the castle/property was wonderful and showed some of the restoration they have performed while we were there. Our breakfast was served in our room by the host which was very nice. We loved our stay here!

Clean, quiet, small but perfectly formed, everything we needed to be self-sufficient for a couple of nights. including a small fridge. Thoughtful extras such as cotton wool, tissues, cleanser, moisturiser, magazine. Welcome pack of food for breakfast - yoghurt, cereal, juice, bread, milk, fresh fruit and shortbread. Close to the lovely Solway Coast at Kippford. There was also a garden area to sit out in the sunshine with a glass of wine.

The hosts added personal finishing touches - cake of choice ,milk and a wide selection of teas and coffee. Beds were really comfortable. Towels were included which was a bonus.
