The guest house was exceptional, well maintained and in such a lovely location. I cannot recommend this place enough as the owners were so friendly and welcoming, clearly taking such pride in both the place, and the wellbeing of guests.

Fairhaven is ideally situated for exploring this part of Yorkshire, its quiet, yet within walking distance of several lovely restaurants, and also the famous steam train. Its only 9 miles from the seaside town of Whitby. Peter and Sarah are the ultimate hosts, serving the most delicious breakfast, with a lovely selection of local produce. The house is full of comfort, charm and character, and has an amazing history. Really loved our stay here.

Finding the house was easy, and there is off road parking outside the property. We were welcomed by both of our hosts at the gate and shown to our room, Assistance was given with our luggage and we soon settled in and made ourselves some coffee in our room, where ample tea/coffee/sugar/milk was supplied, along with biscuits. The room was modern, large, clean, carpeted, and comfortable, with tv, dressing table, wardrobe, drawers, bedside cabinets, and two comfy chairs and a coffee table with dominoes and cards. The en-suite has a shower, toilet and washbasin, and ample room for some quirky items such as a plant in an old hip bath, and a wooden rocking horse! Breakfast was delicious and my veggie preferences were catered for without any fuss, Cereal, juice, tea/coffee, delicious chunky slices of wholemeal toast, butter, marmalade, full english, fresh fruit, etc. We slept well, ate well, and enjoyed chatting with our fellow guests over breakfast. The house is warm, welcoming, full of interesting quirky items... and we will most likely be booking again!

Phil and Dee were absolutely lovely – friendly and accommodating. The property was well loved and not too far from the train station. Being next door to the Spar was a big perk.
