Fabulous guest house, our room was 5* so big & clean. The owners were lovely, so welcoming & breakfast was superb. I highly recommend staying at Ashdale guest house, perfect location for all amenities, my husband & l will definitely be visiting again.

Everything.......The beds were very comfortable. Lovely having a small fridge in the room. There were so many little classy extras, too many to mention. The full English breakfast was perfect, including cereals, fresh orange juice, jams and marmalade....fabulous. Yvonne was the perfect hostess, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was really nice meeting Graham at the end of our stay.

Ellen House has a lot to offer - very friendly and knowledgeable hosts, spotlessly clean rooms and common areas, parking (which is very hard to find in Matlock), a very convenient location - a short walk from everything and generally just a lovely place to stay. The breakfast was freshly prepared to order and delicious. Homemade preserves with breakfast were a special treat as were the home made flapjacks (YUM) in our room each day. Ellen House is also very close to the train station if that is how you travel.
