After eight weeks travel , this pub must be ranked as the best we have stayed in . The welcome late on a bust Friday was warm and friendly . Our room was just superb with everything supplied that you only expect in more expensive properties . Although the restaurant area was booked , a table was found for us . A delicious meal …….fish pie and the best fish and chips cooked to perfection . Delicious ales and lagers , excellent choice of wine . Perfect . Comfortable bed , wi-fi , beautiful bathroom and everything you could want fitted into an ancient building . Breakfast was the full Yorkshire and perfect . We couldn’t have been happier . Everyone should visit the Wellington Heifer !

Staff were great. Steven in particular went well above and beyond: found me an osteopath when I put my back out and then gave me a 45min lift to Hawes after I checked out. Amazing service. Food was also very very good.

Bedroom had some very thoughtful touches such as a mending kit. Bedroom was clean and quiet as it was one of three at the back of the property with a terrace area.
