Amazing location with walks from the door, and wildlife and birds visible from the window. Handy for the amazing Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle, the lovely teashops in Middleton, and for the always excellent Rose & Crown in Romaldkirk and Fox & Hounds in Cotherstone.

Breakfast was cooked individually & not left to dry out under hot lamps. Breakfast was a more imaginative menu than usual for B&B. Staff were exceptionally kind & caring. Beds were very comfortable & rooms were clean - nice hot shower! Quiet village location.
