We stayed in the main building, in a room on the top floor and had a huge Four Poster Bed overlooking the beautiful grounds. It was very quirky and atmospheric. Really old fixtures and fittings. The Bathroom was huge with a large bath and modern fittings. Very clean. The breakfast was good and included in our room price. The small bar had comfy seats and the staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The whole place felt very welcoming with a relaxed atmosphere in a great location. We met with family for an overnight stay and it was very enjoyable.

The Green Dragon Inn, hotel in Alcester

Featuring a garden, restaurant, bar and free WiFi, The Green Dragon Inn is located in Redditch, 1.8 miles from Coughton Court and 12 miles from Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Nice olde worlde friendly place and in the main was fine for what I needed. My 1st pint of bitter beer was the only one as the barrel was finished so I had to switch to lager but these things happen in village pubs. The cooked breakfast was very good. 8:30 AM availability, not so good. The room could have done with a chair instead of just a backless stool although the ensuite was fine. I was okay with the resident small dog sitting by me at breakfast but the only other couple there were not so tolerant.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant had a lovely ambience with a place to sit both before and after the meal. I was disappointed to find no information in the room relating to wifi or breakfast times. Consequently we were late for breakfast but we were still served. There was a music duo playing which apparently happens once a fortnight on a Friday. I would definitely reccomend this place.

historical town, with plenty of pubs,we enjoyed one meal at the turks head which was really good, and another at the macdonalds just out of town.Appeared to be a good range of shops in the centre with much bigger shops out of town.We stayed to visit friends in the area and as a base for coach trip to cheltenham races.

    Alcester is lovely.

Alcester is lovely. I used to live there, and it was lovely to go back - good pubs, some restaurant options and good pub-food options. Great location to explore South Warwickshire/North Cotswolds/North Worcestershire. The Moat House, Turks Head and, a little further afield in Great Alne, the recently re-opened Mother Huff Cap offer good food options. Panache 50 offers good Indian dining, and Amore Italian offers lovely food (try the huge calzone!). Good coffee shops/tea rooms.

The room and bathroom was a standard size for a budget hotel and adequately furnished. Although the pub downstairs was very noisy, there was no noise in the room. The shower was a good size and was very efficient. The location was a few minutes walk from the very attractive town of Alcester. Breakfast was superb and very reasonably priced.

Delightful, very helpful and responsive hosts. Great location, not far from Stratford-upon-Avon and the Cotswolds (but do check out nearby Alcester, with its Roman heritage). Bijou by name and Bijou by nature, this is a cosy home-from-home. Susie and Roger have provided everything that you might need for a peaceful break.

Charming coach house - modern, well furnished and very clean. Lovely location being a short walk from the centre of Alcester and yet felt very secluded and peaceful. A good base for exploring Warwick, Stratford upon Avon and northern Cotswolds (plus various stately homes such as Ragley and Hanbury).

It is a hotel with very friendly staff in a nice location a couple of miles into the countryside north of Alcester. The room was comfortable and well-equipped. There's a convenient back door to which one is given a key so the rooms can be reached when the restaurant is closed.

Dinner was a choice from a varied menu which had something to suit all tastes. I would recommend the lamb curry. Breakfast was full English but you could vary which items you wanted. Tea and coffee were plentiful. Service was very friendly and helpful.

Basic room in a pub type accommodation. Clean and comfortable. Centrally located for Alcester. Thought it was a bit pricey for a pub room and you should certainly expect a kettle/tea/ coffee in room for the price which there wasn’t
