Quietly situated in one of Cirencester’s oldest streets, this delightful, privately owned hotel and restaurant is just 5 minutes’ walk from the town centre.

I have talked to Julie about our "problems" with this stay. The location (downtown) was good, but our GPS could not get us there. The room bore little resemblance to the pictures on line, both in size and the bathroom presentation. And while the breakfast and its service was good we hated the morning cleaning going on just outside the dining room. I hope that Julie found our comments helpful.

The location was fantastic in the heart of Cirencester. The hotel is really nice.
The review is reflective of the service received on check out and the AC unit not working during the stay.
Located on the outskirts of the Cotswold, just 1 mile from the market town of Cirencester, Stratton House Hotel & Spa offers free WiFi throughout.

Beautiful property - big rooms! Which isn’t always the case in the UK. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Few pubs nearby or a short drive into the main township. Only stayed one night, so we weren’t there long enough to enjoy the Spa facilities. Definitely would book a couple of nights next time to enjoy hotel and see more of area

Lovely old town with plenty of shops, particularly individual, local shops. Good place to walk around and plenty of eating places and coffee shops to take a break. Great history around the town from Roman times. Unfortunately we didn't have time to investigate all the places of interest. A particular place to mention was Sudeley Castle which was an absolute gem.

Cirencester has almost everything a visitor would want from a market town including a Saturday food and produce outside market and a arts and crafts indoor market. This is alongside many high street chain shops as well as small independent shops. There are many restaurants, wine bars and pubs as well to choose from covering all sorts if tastes and preferences.

There is an interesting mix of shops, arts arts and crafts, parkland, cafes and historical sites. The church is beautiful inside and is worth a revisit to take it all in. The historical buildings from different centuries side by side give it character and is a surprise each time you walk through an alley or turn a corner.
The food sold on the farmers market is a good quality and mix and the craft market is also high quality.
We will be revisitng.

The market square, overlooked by St John's church - 'the cathedral of the Cotswolds' is very beautiful. The church is staggering - very large and ornate - an architectural jewel. Parking in town was easy enough (April, Easter holidays).
The market outside the church (we were there on a Friday morning) was small but all of the stalls were interesting, with very high-quality fish, vegetables and bakery.
We ate well at our hotel, the Stratton House just out of town on the Gloucester Road.

Have never known a town with so many shopping arcades.
Also a good market in the square on Friday & Saturday, a good variety of stalls.
The Corinium Museum showing the towns Roman past is well worth a visit.
A lovely Hotel could not fault anything If you want a very nice place to stay in Cotswold area Stay here and you will not be disappointed Place is spotlessly clean. room comfortable bed especially Staff very willing and pleasant Breakfast superb as were our evening meals beautiful gardens to wonder round and an easy route to the rest of Cotswolds We went as a couple however dogs are welcone as well Just want to say thankyou everyone for a very lovely 3 day break.
The warm welcome was much appreciated. The apartment is 5*, better than staying in a hotel. Just excellent. The facilities were great, the lounge/diner really well appointed and well lit. The kitchen had everything you need, if you wish to cook. Bring milk if you take that with your tea/coffee is a hint, otherwise there is a garage down the road, or the main town in the other direction. Another hint, bring your Netflix details to use on the TV.
The Corinium Hotel has a lot going for it; a large car park, lovely little bar area and a nice restaurant. Pleasant and helpful staff and a location that is just a short walk from the centre of Cirencester. It's also an attractive characterful building, I loved the stained glass window on the staircase and the internal shutters over the bedroom window. Things you don't encounter that often.
We love this hotel! We have been there with our kids & Labrador and I have just come back from a fab girls weekend away there! It’s big, lots of facilities, lovely breakfast, friendly reception staff, lovely rooms…especially the ones overlooking the Lake. Marie (Maria!), one of the Managers was absolutely exceptional. She makes you feel like it is a top 5 star hotel!
The location was great to visit Cirencester and the Cotswolds. The room was up two flights of stairs as is common the many properties and there is no lift, but the staff volunteered to take the bags upstairs. The room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and an evening meal was superb. The car park is large.
Unfortunately there was an issue with the chef not turning up so we were just offered toast or cereals which was disappointing as previous reviews had praised the breakfast however this was out of control of the hotel and they promptly refunded the cost of our breakfasts.
Imposing Victorian building with bold colours and eclectic furnishing. Clearly improved to a high standard with many individual furnishings.
Close to town centre and parking very adjacent to hotel and cheap.
Breakfast and evening meals very good and staff friendly.
The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is built in a location, so had a peaceful sleep. The staff is very friendly and their pizzas are great. you must have dinner here atleast once. My kids had a great time here. Thank you for your services!
I loved the gardens, breakfast, service, cleanliness, water pressure in the shower, the bedding and linens, and friendliness of the owners. The location was great and we loved the town of Cirencester
The Eliot Arms is outstanding Cotswolds accomodation. The rooms are excellent and there is a quality bar and restaurant within the hotel. The staff are very engaged. I look forward to staying again.
Exceptional location in Cirencester and from which to visit all of Cotswold. The kitchen had everything we needed and spaces in the apartment were personable and nice.
