Absolutely stunning building and room, very rustic and atmospheric. The staff (especially Andy) were exceptional, warm friendly and incredibly welcoming. The food was to die for! Meals in the bar were amazing and the breakfasts were simply delicious.
Situated in a quiet corner of the English Lakes, the Bluebird Lodge offers free private parking and free Wi-Fi in public areas. It is just 15 minutes’ walk from the village of Coniston.

Lovely, clean and well equipped flat bang in the middle of Coniston.
We stayed with our 9 month baby and the included travel cot and high chair were excellent quality.
The small hall before the kitchen/living room was useful for keeping wet hiking gear.
Next to Coniston Water, The Coniston Inn - The Inn Collection Group has lawns running down to the lake shore and a restaurant with spectacular mountain views.

Location was perfect for the end of the first day of walking the Cumbria Way. The staff were very welcoming (and sympathetic to tired walkers) and both the evening meal and breakfast hit the spot. It was extremely convenient to be able to pick up a packed lunch for the next day of walking.

Coniston is a pretty village and a great attraction is the Bluebird boat in the Ruskin Museum. However, if you want to stay near a lake, Coniston isn't the right village.
Only pub food in Coniston and they haven't heard of/no demand for salads.

Coniston is the perfect village to stay at for exploring this area of the lake district. There are some fantastic views and walks in all directions for varying levels of experience and fitness. Refreshments and accommodation are available, with at least four pubs for great food and beer, plus a petrol station, cafes and a few shops, without losing the village feel.

The cottage is homely, fairly clean, it has most things you need, a lovely view of Coniston and the lake. The location was perfect for us, plenty of walks from the cottage and lovely views on the walk back along the elevated lane.
The only downside was the junk around the back of the cottage, and to the side.

Beautiful area of the lakes.
Beautiful area of the lakes. We haven’t spent much time around Coniston before having normally visited Keswick. Coniston is a picturesque village, the lake makes for some amazing photos and the village’s is full of, and surrounded by, places to eat.

I have visit Coniston many times before, this time was to go fell walking with my Son. Booked Bluebird Lodge at quite short notice but found it very easy. I knew it was just outside of the town which allowed us to pick up walks without moving the car. We also took a trip on the Steam Gondola & went around the Ruskin Museum, both of which were excellent have been meaning to do for years. Bluebird Lodge is near the lake where there are a vast array of activities for all ages. Great food both at the Lodge & nearby pubs & cafes. Couldn't have asked for more. Superb!
The location was perfect with it been set in the heart of Coniston village, we had fantastic views of surrounding fells including the Old Man. The room itself was spacious with comfy bed and good tea/ coffee making facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful, couldn’t fault the service. The bar downstairs had a great choice of different beers and lagers and other beverages as well as a decent menu for food (we didn’t try the food as had other reservations). Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
Our stay at bluebird lodge was amazing, the way to the old man is spectacular, both from the room and the breakfast room. The breakfast was delicious and plenty to choose from and the room was roomy and cozy. During our stay, storm Arwen hit and Cumbria lost electricity. Tracey and Michael did everything to help us. They provided camping lamps and even made as breakfast on a camping cooker. If we come back to the lake district sometime, we would definitely come here again.
Staff fantastic/very friendly couldn't do enough and very clean .The breakfast was fantastic we also had a Steak one night which was done to perfection. The Hotel is located in a great position in Coniston 200 yards walk to the Lake jetty and 800 yards to the centre. We've been to many hotels in the past but without doubt this is the best we have stayed at. We will be visiting again in the near future. Brian from York. Visit was 20/10/2021.
The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved the location - 3 pubs that do food and shops for groceries only a minute walk away and only a short walk down to the lake shore.
We particularly liked having the space of self catering but having breakfast included at the B and B owned by the same owner , Frances. The breakfast was well cooked, presented well and very hot.
Rooms at the Black Bull are a little pricey, but very good. Breakfast was very good. The location is excellent. Lovely to come back to a meal and a few drinks after the day out, and only have to walk upstairs afterwards! Fully stocked on Coniston Brewery beers. Will definitely recommend if you're visiting the South West Lake District.
Could not have picked a better place to stay for our short break in the Lake District.
Both Angela and Steve could not have been more helpful, they are obviously very passionate about making sure their guests are catered for.
When we are next in the area, we will be staying at The Apartments in Coniston.
Excellent location on the outskirts of Coniston - an easy walk into the town and a stone’s throw away from the lake and one of the local hotel/pubs.
2 good sized double bedrooms with very comfortable beds and one lovely en-suite shower room.
Also, a lovely small garden at the back with table and chairs.
Francis and Paul , were fabulous hosts, very helpful and informative.
Accommodation was comfortable and very clean.
Sitting In middle of village, with an abundance of eateries and hostilarys around, short walk to Coniston lake, we're there is sailing and other water sports.
Lakeland House is in the centre of Coniston and right on the doorsteps of pubs, restaurants and all the local facilities and only a short walk from the lake. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The room was comfortable with great views of the fells. Great breakfast aswell
For us, this wonderful place IS Coniston — right in the middle of town, beautifully updated and well-appointed rooms, fantastic restaurant (get reservations!), nice outdoor sitting area, and a short walk to the lake. A sensational introduction to the Lake District!
The view from the cottage was beautiful, and it was a perfect base for walking, swimming in the lake and exploring Coniston. Loved the open fire, the comfy sofa and how cosy it felt. The cottage was clean and well kitted out with everything we needed.
Excellent accommodation. Well equipped, clean, comfortable with stunning views of the Lake and the hills. Ideal for a trip to Coniston. We were there for the Lakeland Trails running events and it is just a mile to the start which was an extra bonus.
Our stay was brilliant, excellent location between Coniston old man and the lake. The hosts were super lovely and welcoming. The room was clean and just what we needed for two nights. Breakfast was lovely and tasted great. Can not recommend enough!
Hotel was lovely and location was great right on middle of Coniston. Rooms were comfortable as was the bed. Parking wasn't a problem and wifi worked fine.
Quiet room couldn't hear pub downstairs.
Pub evening food was lovely as was breakfast.
Perfect location, with private access to the lake, relaxed atmosphere, great breakfasts, fresh milk available for tea/coffee in our room, friendly, helpful staff, beautiful garden.
Excellent location, very scenic and central to Coniston. Accommodation very homely and comfortable. The welcome pack of goodies was a lovely touch. Information book well organised.
