The Dolphin has recently had many rooms renovated and we were lucky enough to be in a spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated room. It was in a great location close to town and the seafront. They also have parking which you need to reserve in advance. We enjoyed our one night stay.

Nice seafront, looks more upmarket than some seaside resorts.
Plenty of places to eat and drink although watch out for pubs closing early out of season. Beginning of May and the harbour pub closed at 10pm.
Love floating restaurant Exe Cafe, but have to book well in advance.

I used to live here so very happy to return for a more lane visit. It is an ideal place for families with good safe beaches, good travel facilities for access to other areas of Devon by bus or train, especially to Exeter’s excellent shopping. Not the most interesting of towns but good middle of the road unpretentious place to visit & enjoy.

Exmouth itself is an attractive holiday resort for all the family. Superb sandy beach with many facilities, wide range of hotels and restaurants, railway and buses. Many restaurants serve a wide variety of fish menus. One is able to walk and walk and enjoy the variety of houses, streets, special buildings, the market and the coffee/snack outlets. An extremely satisfactory area for all ages, albeit rather steep roads if one walks from the sea front upwards.

A small town with friendly atmosphere.
A small town with friendly atmosphere. Lots of good charity shops!
The town museum is worth a visit.
There is a mix of independent and high street shops and places to eat. We chose both.
Exmouth is very compact and within easy reach of the beach.
Our room, no, róóms (plural) were spacious beyond expectations... tations...tations...tations. We even had two bathrooms. Our topbartenders Lloyd and Titch combine old-fashioned professionality with friendliness. All staff members are hospitable. The facilities like swimming pools are free. Breakfast is superb. The enormous garden is beautiful. The building is charming (although it seems a bit weighed down by its years). Bottomline: this is the best place to stay in Exmouth. (And I visited a few.)
The location was ideal for touring East Devon. Situated between Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton you have the choice or visit both. Exmouth is ideal for catching a bus or train to Exeter.
The view from the house is spectacular, overlooking glorious countryside with the sea in the horizon.
Lovely tables and chairs are outside the patio doors for you to enjoy the view while eating the delicious cake and drinking tea on your arrival.
Location was fab and hotel was lovely with a good history which I like. Central and quiet location. Breakfast lovely and a lot of choice. Special shout out to lovely Receptionist Rhea who couldn’t do enough for us and did it all with a cheery smile. I also requested an early check in due to having to leave our other accommodation and she arranged it and called me to tell me the good news which I was so happy about
Lovely, comfortable and modern apartment with private parking space in an excellent location for getting around Exmouth easily - just a short walk from the sea, shops and train station. The agency was helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed our stay (especially the nice sunsets seen from the living room/terrace) and would definitely be happy to stay here again.
A great place to stay, Estuary view is a lovely apartment, clean and spacious, with a wonderful view as the name suggests. It was close to all the amenities, including within walking distance of the beach, plus on site parking. Debbie was very helpful and prompt in her communications and greeted us with delicious cake!
The staff were exceptional, so warm and welcoming and we were upgraded for free as it was my birthday. That was such a lovely touch. Hotel was stunning and also views would have been if it were not for the rain and we arrived when it was dark. Hope to stay longer next time to explore properly.
Location was excellent, breakfast was limited but acceptable (due to covid), You can't miss the hotel it's bright green! Staff very pleasant and helpful will book again, room was clean and tidy, split level bedroom / bathroom was a novelty but in keeping with a lot of properties in Exmouth
Staff friendly and very helpful when we first arrived helping us with room choices. We were offered another room but decided we liked our original room and able to make changes to go back with no fuss and staff really understanding. We also parked easily outside hotel. Thank-you.
Lovely hotel with a grate location to local shops, restaurant and pub and bus stop
Beautiful art within the building of original building and location in the olden times
Gorgeous view of the sea from room 25

The hotel is very comfortable, and the bedrooms are clean and tidy and a generous size. The staff are very helpful, and the breakfast in the morning is fantastic. We will definitely use the hotel on our next visit to Devon.
