Incredible location with the most beautiful surroundings.
So close to town and right on the main road.
Built by a visionary architect in 1925, Portmeirion Village & Castell Deudraeth overlooks the beautiful Dywryd Estaury.

The food was delicious, the ambience of the hotel and gardens perfect, The staff I dealt with whilst arranging our stay (a group of 5) were both helpful and efficient. The staff generally were lovely and accommodating.

The food, the location, the accommodation was spacious, clean, good amenities. Own private terraced that could lead through to the pub/restaurant garden but was also secure.
The staff were all approachable, professional, knowledgeable and welcoming.
The food was delicious, both the evening meal and also the breakfast which catered for any allergy or dietary requirements.
Porthmadog High Street is 30 meters and both national and steam trains are within 600 meters of Tudor Lodge. The Tudor Lodge is a family run bed and breakfast.

Walked up the steepest street in the northern hemisphere which was challenging - took me about 7 minutes.
Castle is very good.
Nice cheese and beer shop opposite the castle.
It was a good base from which to travel to other towns.

Overlooked by its majestic castle, Harlech should be a wonderful place but underinvestment (and probably the results of the pandemic) have left it with many shuttered shops and closed businesses. A great shame, as it's a shadow of the town it used to be.

Best beach in the world.
Best beach in the world. We spent 3 days on the beach in Harlech and could have spent much longer. Castle is always spectacular.
Travelled around on public transport only, went on Ffestiniog railway.
Great couple of shops in Upper Harlech selling all homewares, and fresh food. Groser Harlech great for breakfast pastries and organic produce.
Lovely walk around to find the 5 Merion chairs.
Woodland walk down from chair 3 to lower road through woodland, a cave and a waterfall in someone's garden.

As the weather wasn’t good.
As the weather wasn’t good. Heavy rain we didn’t get onto the beach as intended or indeed explore the local area as planned. Harlech has a lot to offer as we have been there previously and we intend to visit again. Country side and views are amazing and the Castle restaurant in Harlech does amazing food.

Harlech has a great Castle and an amazing beach (approx 5km long and separated into dog / no dog zones).
There is a lot of self catering accommodation but you really need to travel to the next town (20mins) for a bigger shop. Porthmadog has everything.
If you want to eat out in Harlech, there's very limited choice (we only found 2 good places, both hotels)
Besides the beach and castle, there is golf and good walks. If you after nightlife, probably not for you.
The location is absolutely amazing. The castle is only 20min away on foot and the beach a little over half an hour. Stunning view from our room facing the castle.
The hotel is newly renovated and everything was done with taste. I really liked the decor.
Also, the owners were very welcoming and helpful.
The food was good and fairly priced. We had dinner on our arrival
The whole experience surpassed our expectations.
I couldn't be more happy for choosing The Queens Hotel
Great location. Short walk to town center. Brilliant views of the sea from the bedroom window.
The owner was very welcoming even offering to make a pot of tea on our arrival.
The owner had added lots of thoughtful things for the house/room (eg. A small fridge in the room supplied with fresh milk!)
The whole house was scrupulously clean.
The owner gave us lots of local information about the surrounding area.
The cottage was perfect for the two of us and our dog. Nicely equipped and so quick to warm up. Harlech Castle is beautiful and fun to explore. The Deli in the village is wonderful & the shop diagonally opposite is one of those small places that sell everything! The shop opposite the castle has outstanding homemade ice cream. The walks around the town are beautiful and the beach is reached through dunes.
Just fell in love with the area and the Hotel was just perfect. Everybody were so friendly, helpful and cheerful.
The restaurant is amazing and breakfast was delicious - the coffee was excellent.
So many places to visit and I will be going back to continue my visits of the Castles. Did a Train Ride / Trek with llama's /Walking/Relaxing and strolling along the beach and of course Snowdonia amazing.
We had a fabulous 3 nights at The Crown Lodge it is in a perfect location near to the centre of Harlech and has a fantastic view overlooking Harlech beach. Linda & Mark are lovely hosts & made us feel very welcome. Our room was very clean, comfortable & spacious & had the perfect view! Breakfast choice was very good too. We highly recommend staying at the Crown Lodge & will definitely visit again.
Everything was exceptional The food ,locaton and the country guest house was the best we have stayed in.
The host was very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for her .Wouldn't stay anywhere else when we are in or around Harlech. The photo's of the house and surrounding area doesn't do it justice.
The bedroom was larger than expected ,the meals was good the breakfast was plenty keep you going, the location of the hotel was what we wanted so we could visit places, Barmouth, Talybont with good beaches in one direction and Porthmadog, Criccieth and Pwllheli the other with other places in between.
A very welcoming host Saul. Great location in Harlech, for beach, golf, castle etc. Rooms decorated to very high spec. A good night's sleep! Big TV in our room and we watched some iPlayer. Access to host's kitchen too. Would recommend and hopefully stay here again. The dog Link was friendly too!
Excellent location with friendly hosts. The room was well maintained and there were plenty of outdoor areas with excellent views. It's an easy walk down to Harlech and the beach/Castle and only a short drive to a few local spots.
The breakfast each day was a highlight.
The Cottage was absolutely fabulous!!!
It had everything that we needed, was lovely and cosy.
The location was perfect a short walk down to the beach, and a short drive into Harlech itself.
We had a lovely stay and can't wait to return, we didn't want to leave
Deborah and her stuff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. The guest house is ideally situated for exploring North Wales, a beautiful area with every kind of landscape.
The property for us was in an ideal location, a 20 minute walk from the centre of Harlech, and just 10 mins to the wonderful beach. The cottage is just lovely and if I could rate it higher that the highest I would!
The hosts were.amazing and if you're planning on visiting Harlech Castle, you can't beat the location. Our room was spacious, decorated nicely, and very comfortable.
Beautiful views, easy walk to the beach, lovely and clean. The goodie bag was a nice touch and the explorer pass was warmly received. Convenient parking too.
Breakfast was very good! The size of the room was nice Location was great. The owners are friendly and very helpful when planning things to do in the area.
