The room was great. Very eclectic. Loved the bathroom and bath, all finished to a really nice quality and really enjoyed all the extra touches on the tea tray. The location is also ideal

A good base to visit Peak District.
A good base to visit Peak District. Shopping centre in decline. Local bus services in decline but possible to reach Hayfield and Buxton. Plus very good train service to Manchester, London, Birmingham etc. Some good eateries - especially excellent Plums Kitchen.

I like Macclesfield because it is a pretty town with good links to Manchester if you need the big city, the Peak District if you like walking, and Buxton if you want a bit of culture. The town is of a manageable size with pretty parks, and it has various small events going on in the local pubs, plus each month there is the Treacle Market, which is a popular feature of Macclesfield.

I came for the silk museum and the Paradise Mill which I can recommend both. The Treacle Market on the last Sunday of the month was a good experience. The weather was sunny, but often was a chill strong wind, I missed a hat. It takes only 30 minutes to travel by train to Manchester, and about 2 hours to London. There are good restaurants and pubs! There are many places to take a nice walk in the nature of the surrounding area, but unfortunately I had to postpone them.

A nice small town centre, a good choice of eateries & cafes, A couple of good ladies boutiques along with a lovely shop Rocco selling stylish boots & trainers.
The Tytherington hotel is well worth a stay as they have a good Spa & pool. Another small hotel nearby is BoHotel & eatery, lovely. Free car parking available for the town centre too.

I went to Macclesfield for business , not leisure.
I went to Macclesfield for business , not leisure. It is a small town where shops and restaurants generally close quite early.
I did not have anytime to do any sightseeing in the town or outside - so I cannot really comment about the place from a leisure point of view.
The location was quiet and easily accessible to local villages. (although it is in the middle of a residential area, not very interesting)
The rooms are contemporary and modern. (Although a few hairs on the floor in the en-suite and the floor definitely needed a good clean.)
The health club was nice and well equipped.
I chose not to eat at the hotel due to other reviews on this site.
Parking was easy.
Fantastic relaxing location! Green surroundings. Looking down on the Manchester skyline on the horizon. A place to make nice walks or a short evening tour into the hills. Great main building. I did not use the spa facilities but the outside pool etc. also looked very attractive... hope to be back there one day (I don't often say that about hotels). Large free parking area, good bed, good bathroom...
The historic hotel was situated in a picturesque setting, overlooking the mountains. The rooms were comfortable and adequately furnished. There was a nice bar area that included a large outdoor space with tables, as well as a restaurant onsite. While we didn't choose to use the spa and swimming pool, many others took advantage of that feature.
I had a great stay in the bunk room. Really nice staying in an only a 2 person shared room compared to a larger hostel. Everything was clean and comfortable. Multiple pillows and blankets and towels provided for free. Very close to public transportation to the Peak District. I would recommend and would stay again if in Macclesfield again.
Mottram Hall Hotel is in a nice location, but we had difficulty getting taxi’s to come out to the Hotel which is in a rural area.
The Bedroom was reasonably clean but not worth the £200 per night, price tag!
The Elemis toiletries in the bathroom had been partially used!
Breakfast was extra and not included in the cost.
Great location right in the centre of the village. The room was bigger than I thought it was going to be. Large comfortable bed. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Food was good especially breakfast. We had a nice quiet walk along the river which we accessed from Shirleys car park on Sunday morning.
I had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage.
Perfect location for walking into the town centre to enjoy the many attractions of Macclesfield. Clean and comfortable facilities with lots of charm, everything provided to make my stay a special one. Can't wait to come back again! Many thanks to Dan.
The apartment is in a great location and an easy walk to some good restaurants, a great bakery, and the train station. Nice, well equipped kitchen. Everything was very clean and in good shape. James could not have been a more thoughtful and welcoming host.
The rooms were spacious. The kitchen was fully equipped. It was so nice to arrive to a small container of milk, cookies, coffee and tea. The apartment's location was excellent, very close to the centre of town and lots of shops and restaurants.
Excellent stay in this well thought out b and b in the heart of Macclesfield. Lovely breakfast hamper and generous hospitality tray! The room has everything you need and more. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and again.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff; location of hotel and quality of food. Nice lounge area to meet up before going through for meal. Quirky decore and boutique rooms.
