Extremly nice Glamping Pod. You get everything you need in a wonderful decorated and quite new small and cosy cabin. the owener is a wonderful man and extremly helpful. The location is THE perfect start for your walk on the West Highland Way. Located just outside of Milngavie you have easy access to the starting point. If you come by bus, ask the driver to let you get off right at the reception or get a taxi at the train station (where the bus stops too). I can recommend that place warmly to everyone.
Situated in Milngavie, 5.9 km from Mugdock Country Park, Kirkhouse Inn has a number of amenities including a shared lounge, a restaurant and a bar.

Lovely location, great food, friendly staff but….the room as terrible. Do not stay in a deluxe suite (definitely not room 15). There was deluxe about it with scrapeable black mould in the shower, stains (vomit?) on the wall and floor near the bin, a sink tap no longer attached to the sink and broken blinds that fell down on my husband.
The junior attendant I spoke to at reception confirmed that they knew about the state of the rooms and they needed upgraded, this would explain the threadbare carpet worn out in several places but I feel the other things could be easily solved quickly. I have tried to talk to a manager about our experience but have not been contacted back. It’s a shame as it was a nice place otherwise but it somewhat spoilt our anniversary weekend.

I was there for COP26, one week. Could have easily managed longer at the site, but not at COP26. I got offered a (free) room in Glasgow halfway through the week, but turned it down for the peace of the site and warmth & pleasure of the lounge. I've seen little of the surroundings, other than the daily short drive to Milngavie railway station (~15 minutes) with its excellent frequent connections to Glasgow.
