the hotel pub, the city center, the quay, and excellent walking around the exe estuary, where there are nice pubs, and if you like birds excellent bird watching, you can walk from exeter to tighnmouth and catch the train ack if you like, its afew miles though.

This is a nice place for an overnight stay. The bed was comfy and although the bathroom was really tiny, the shower was good. The food in the bar was delicious and the view outside of the river was lovely.

Clean and tidy Hotel, staff friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Single room was just the right size for a one night stay. As I had to leave early on the Sunday morning before breakfast, I asked if some cereal and coffee be provided early. To my pleasant surprise, a full English breakfast was provided, which was lovely.

The City Gate is located in the centre of Exeter with a traditional pub, dining room and garden surrounded by the historic city wall.
