Been visiting Aberaeron for over 40 years , beautiful seaside town , very friendly , excellent hotels / b&b / pubs etc. Spotlessly clean , peaceful lots to do in the area. Newquay not far away if you want somewhere busier but the tranquility is what gives Aberaeron its charm much busier in the summer especially carnival week . A little gem of a place

Aberaeron is a gorgeous Georgian seaside town in West Wales.

Aberaeron is a gorgeous Georgian seaside town in West Wales. It has great places to eat and great little shops to wander around. Two fabulous cafes for great coffee and food are Naturally Scrumptious and McCowans. Aberaeron has a fantastic book shop called 'Gwisgo' that sells both new and used books together with a wonderful selection of greeting cards. The owners are very knowledgeable and friendly and will help you pick out the perfect book for your reading needs! If you are knitter - Rosemary's Wool Shop is a great place to pick up a yarn project and get some expert advice and tips on any fiber arts related question. Aberaeron is on the Wales Coastal path and is a great place to start, finish or stop off for food on one's journey along the coastline of Wales.

Aberaeron was a lovely place to visit but all the very fine restaurants were very expensive but of course the food was so very good and we loved The Sellar the best wonderfull food. It did rain alot while we were there and became colder, all the people we met were very friendly, lovely place .

Aberaeron is a beautiful Georgian coastal town in West Wales. It is easy to walk around town and there are some great little shops, boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Naturally Scrumptious is a great place for coffee and pastries and Watson & Pratts is a wonderful organic food store. There is a beautiful walk from Aberaeron to Llanerchaeron - a National Trust property that is open to the public. You can also access The Wales Coast Path form Aberaeron which is a 870 mile trail that follows the coastline of Wales.

I've loved Aberaeron since a child and I still love the mix...

I've loved Aberaeron since a child and I still love the mix of the old traditional colourful buildings and (now) the 21st Century bars & dining. A great place if you like boats and harbours, with the most amazing views! The Ceredigion Coastal Path goes through Aberaeron and there are some stunning views on the path in the direction of New Quay. A good place to chill out with a good view, and maybe a good book. Lots of benches. Quiet. There is also a river walk (with benches). The Ice Cream at 'The Hive' is the best I've ever tasted! Amazing sunsets over the sea (in good weather). Maybe not the place for young people wanting a lot of night life, but perfect for us not so young who want to relax.

Young staff outstandingly efficient and friendly; orders taken on iPad style machines; over generous food, eg double everything at breakfast included in B&B cost; examples mussels starter £10 and lobster main £30, glass of Laurent and Perrier £10. Two separate areas to eat, same menu. Hotel, sits on harbour’s and tide filling and emptying twice a day through narrow gap is fascinating. David Parry-Jones June 30 - July 2

Dave and Kerry were the perfect combination of sweet and professional. They have a quiet and clean B&B just outside the quaint seaside town of Aberaeron and really are the quintessential Mom and Pop shop. Kerry makes a splendid breakfast in the morning and also called around town to make dinner reservations for me. And Dave drove us to dinner and back just so I didn’t have to drive myself. It was quite a perfect place to stay.

haven’t stayed in the cottage before always in the hotel which we love. different experience in the self catering cottage but the location still lovely being only two doors down and great to have parking. we ate dinner at the restaurant and the food was excellent, and the two waiting staff were very friendly and happy to indulge my attempts at speaking Welsh which has always been a nice tradition at the Harbourmasters.

It was perfect! We stayed in the beautifully presented cottage. The cottage has 3 bedrooms (2 with large ensuites). It had everything, from very comfortable beds, board games, parking space to luxurious bathroom accessories. The cottage was located next to the harbour and had a lovely view overlooking the harbour. Luckily, we had the weather and time to relax by sitting outside the cottage to appreciate those views.

My boyfriend and I stayed in the pod for his 20th birthday and my grandmother’s 80th birthday, the location was beautiful, we loved the location and the family dog was a darling! It was the perfect stones throw from Aberaeron and Aberystwyth, where we enjoyed going for food and looking around the little shops. The added touch of the dvds to watch was lovely, we loved San Andreas and The Martian!

Smartly newly decorated, on a working farm with public restaurant, good farm shop and excellent children’s play facilities Liked communal sitting room, but some way of demarcating our stuff in fridge would be good. (Our milk got used by others who probably thought it was also communal) Food was excellent, better than some 4 star hotels we have stayed in. Some really quirky breakfast choices.

Staff at reception were polite and helpful. The new owner was very friendly and we enjoyed talking to him about his developmental plans for the hotel. Breakfast was exactly what we wanted served in a room close to the bedroom area. If the new owners’ plans are fulfilled the Castle Hotel will be an asset to the community, town and visitors to Aberaeron.
