The hotel was fantastic value. Lovely room, very roomy and clean throughout. Food was excellent and well priced drink. Every member of staff was extremely friendly and helpful. All in all an excellent overnight stay and I would absolutely recommend.

Our visit to Watermead was excellent. Our hosts could not have given us a warmer welcome. We all appreciated the personal attention that ensured our comfort.
This 200 year old farmhouse is set amidst beautiful countryside on a beef farm, just off the A303 and Ilminster, near Chard. We have something to suit everyone with a mix of self catering & B&B.

Gorgeous, big, comfortable room with lots of character and lovely views of the cottage gardens and farm.
Great exclusive breakfast room with a small patio, sofa, and TV as well as tea and coffee facilities.
We stayed here as a half way on our way to Cornwall and were very pleasantly surprised at how lovely it was, especially for the reasonable price, including full English breakfast!
Great hosts too!

A small town, not many places to eat out...we ate where we stayed at The Bath House Hotel and restaurant - a Malaysian fusion restaurant, rather pricey but a nice meal. A good base to travel on from or go to places to visit - we had a day in Sidmouth from Chard , so an easy place to travel from!!

Very disappointed with Chard, a very sad town with little going for it. Expected a pleasant, country town but Chard certainly was not. Rough pubs, takeaways, boarded up premises & several locals who appeared to be under the influence. I would not recommend, avoid!!

Chard itself didn't seem to have lots to offer although the Wetherspoons was clean and always available. It is a good location and base for what we wanted, which was visiting East Devon, West Dorset and West Somerset.
The weather was foul some days but we can't blame Chard for that!

Once arrived at the Haymaker, all the staff were very friendly and helpful with everything I asked. Room was very spacious, clean, fresh towels , tea, coffee, bottled water replaced every day. Breakfast was amazing, even had gluten free options. We ate there couple times, friends joined us one night and commented how good the food was. We're going back again soon

It was a very pleasant stay.
It was a very pleasant stay. Great location in the village of Chard. Great that they had there own parking. The room was adequate, nice and clean. Although it was a last minute trip so we got the last room. The shower was lovely and hot. Very quiet location. The breakfast was really good . Trudie, David and there lovely dog Chester, were all very friendly and gave us lots of advice on where we were visiting.
I would definitely recommend and quite happy to stay there again.

Small and well located in the Somerset country side with easy links to the south coast, motorways and many other places in Somerset, Devon and Dorset. Chard has plenty of shopping facilities and places to eat and drink. The people are friendly, polite and helpful.
This is a lovely family run hotel/pub in Wadebridge a village outside of Chard. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and we had a fabulous full English breakfast the first morning and two lovely meals in the evenings. The owners and staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. For us it was a quiet base to explore the local countryside with the bonus of a pint of ale to relax with at the end of the day without having to worry about driving.
Everything! Lovely little hotel in the centre of Chard. Ensuite king-size double bedroom which was immaculate. Excellent breakfast.
Small family run business. The owners are very welcoming and it was a joy to chat with them. They provided us with a lovely relaxed stay.
As a small hotel (6 rooms), it provides a personal touch that you wouldn't get from a larger commercial hotel.
Quiet country setting, with a stream, and an old mill. Picturesque and relaxing. We opened our window to hear the birds chirping in the trees. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast delicious and our room was spacious. The hotel is set up to do receptions and special events.
Easy to find and was booked in particular as had 'destination' Electric Charge Facilities. (BP Pulse account with credit on it required). The hotel excelled in their room provision which was upgraded. The breakfast was good and the evening meal facilities also didn't disappoint.
So much nicer than a hotel room with a separate lounge and dining area downstairs. Comfortable bed and we slept well. The breakfast was delicious and served on time. The location was in a countryside location - lovely and quiet. The host was very friendly and very helpful.
The room was superb, immaculate and clean, the breakfast was fabulous as was the evening meal, a great choice of classic and Malaysian. The staff were so good and helpful. I rarely recommend a hotel as I’m afraid to disappoint as things change but this has a bit of class.
So many great personal touches, some milk in the fridge for a cuppa, Tea bags, sugar , coffee all in tins couldn't ask for anything more.
Asked about getting in a takeaway and I was delivered a menu.
Beautiful comfortable furniture and a lovely large comfortable bed.
Excellent breakfast, Room was on the top floor very cosy and very clean. The owners were very welcoming and very knowledgeable about the area and things to do around Chard. We cannot fault our stay and I would recommend to anyone as we will go back again soon
The decor is original and each room is named after a flower and decorated accordingly. The dinner menu included Japanese dishes as well as English, and these were beautifully cooked and presented. The breakfast was delicious. We felt very well cared for.
Lovely hotel, stayed here last year and just stayed for another three nights. Little chalet rooms out the back both times. Super clean, tidy and quiet. Owner very friendly and helpful, also did some laundry for me too.
Facilities better than some high end hotels, everything was amazing. Hot tub heated easily, bed super comfy, bathroom and kitchen spotless. Easy to find location, quiet and secluded. Perfect for a romantic getaway.
The owners of the hotel were exceptionally nice, we were in chard for a wedding and on the evening couldn’t book a taxi home, and so Steve (the owner) kindly came and picked us up!
House breakfast was superb and well cooked, set you up for the day. Staff spot on. Evening meals of a very high standard and you could eat anywhere in the hotel.
