Very clean and comfortable room. The staff were really welcoming - extremely dog friendly. Bar is a lovely place to sit in the evening and when nice weather a nice beer garden. Excellent rural location in the centre of a range of visits and activities. A number of rural pubs (Tankersville Arms, Pack Horse Inn) within a few miles provided excellent food and ambience so not short of food and drink and things to do. Fitted our need perfectly.

Lots of lovely clean stretches of beach walks and interesting areas to visit. Cragside House was a fantastic day, give yourself the whole day to look around the house and grounds. Bamburgh Castle well worth a visit, need at least 4-5 hours and then can walk down from there to the beautiful beach.

We always go up to this area every year mostly Beadnell it's a fantastic area to explore the cabins are fine place to stop in but if you like peace and quiet don't book as the ball is a popular wedding venue which for us later on the night became quite noisy would have been better on a Sunday maybe . What you could not fault was the amazing breakfast at the joiners arms Ellsworth a vist

Excellent base for visiting Alnwick, Lindisfarne and walking parts of the England Coastal Path. Embleton Bay and a visit to Craster to buy locally sourced and smoked kippers, and call at the Jolly Fisherman are a must!

The place is very nice, although undergoing renovation so the scaffolding was off-putting. There was a wedding during our stay so we decided to stay out of their way which reduced our use of the facilities. There was no option for evening meal, a bit unusual for a hotel we thought. Fantastic bedrooms - although we stayed in a cheaper outer block which was nice but not as impressive a sthose in the main Hall building

The Hotel is in an excellent Northumberland location; it is a most impressive building in lovely well kept grounds. Our room was large & very well appointed with a very spacious bathroom and such a good, large deep bath. Staff were most friendly & helpful. The breakfast was varied and of very good quality. We enjoyed our stay there, though perhaps a little more expensive than we would have liked.

Breakfast was excellent. Lots of choice. Staff were very attentive. They brought my husband a chair with arms as he has mobility issues. The adapted bedroom worked very well for my husband. Wherever we were in the hotel, there was always someone willing to help. We can’t praise the staff enough.

Beautiful hotel and spa. Luxurious room. Incredible setting, staff excellent. They had an unfortunate power cut 15 mins before we went to breakfast so we were unable to sample the cooked breakfast menu....which did look amazing.
