Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Portman Lodge offers accommodation with a garden and free WiFi. With free private parking, the property is 20 km from Monkey World and 25 km from Poole Harbour. Corfe Castle is 32 km away and Salisbury Racecourse is 35 km from the guest house.

Breakfast was excellent and honestly why we chose Portman Lodge. My husband wanted to experience an English Breakfast. Neal was super helpful and friendly. The room was much nicer, comfortable and more modern than expected.

Serving homemade ice cream and real ales, The Langton Arms has a traditional pub restaurant. The inn is set in a 17th-century thatched house, in the picturesque Dorset village of Tarrant Monkton.

The elegant bedrooms at The Langton are situated in a rustic outbuilding, surrounding a pretty courtyard. Each room has a private entrance, a TV and a modern bathroom with free toiletries.

Friendly service and extra effort made to accommodate our party. Restaurant was excellent. The grounds are relaxing and have places to relax and enjoy a drink outside.

The barn is set in a beautiful quiet village, but close to lots of places of interest. The host Bill made us feel very welcome, offering us tea and cake on arrival. Throughout our stay he went out of the way to accommodate us, even giving us a lift to the restaurant we had booked when our car was playing up. The breakfasts were superb with lots of choice, including a fresh fruit platter as a starter.

Great location. Private, but the owner was on hand and kindly waited up for our late night arrival. Very comfortable, homely & immaculately clean. Tea, coffee, juice, milk and breakfast cereals, croissant, butter, jams provided. No microwave, but a toaster, hot plate and pan in the kitchenette. Very quiet and restful. A great host. A lot of thought and attention to detail in the equipping of this spacious cabin. Perfect for the 2 of us and our adult son joining us for a night on the sofa bed.

The room was great, the attention to detail was excellent, as were the furniture and accessories. The breakfast was superb, fresh fruit cut and served, an excellent cooked breakfast with the best sausages I've had in a guesthouse. But to top it all, our hosts, Tanya and Jon were not only very friendly, but also extremely helpful, top marks. Would I stay there again definitely.

Charming cottage feel hotel. The room was quiet, bed nice and comfortable and shower was amazing! (I think most powerful shower I have ever used…!) Had dinner during the stay which was great, breakfast has to be preordered night before meaning when we went to eat everything was ready, there is a hot breakfast available as well as buffet cereals. Great location to get around the key tourism sites of Dorset, about a 30 min drive to Stonehenge/Poole/Jurassic coast. Would stay again if I were to visit Dorset.
