If you're looking for a quite place with a touch of victorian style, not to far form Edimburgh and really well connected to it, this is the place for you. The owners are very kind and they make sure, every morning, that you're getting a true Scottish experience with their breakfast. The garden is well-kept and very enjoyable, also perfect for dog owners. Of course they also have dogs and they are lovely and well trained, we loved and enjoyed playing with them. Thank you for making us enjoy our staying and make us love Scotland even more.

With a supermarket next door and bus stop across the street, there could not be a better location. The USB ports in the kitchen and magnetic charger in the bed lamp are a relief for those who have no GB adapter for the cell phone.

The best place in musselburgh to stay in. Very clean tidy and amazing host. Alice will make sure you’re feeling welcomed and at home. We took a large room with multiple beds. Amazing view. Great breakfast and very close from shops. If you like to walk it’s 30 min to the train station or down the street for a bus ride.

The guest house was a second home to us. The owner was very kind and our room was just the right size with everything we could have hoped for. Buses into town are only 5 minutes apart. There is a parking lot right across the street without a parking fee. Great stay!

It was an amazing experience to stay at Straven Guesthouse. I felt at home, the bed was very comfortable and the room was beautiful and warm. Breakfast was a whole variety of delicious dishes, home made and beautiful. The sea front is only a few steps away and I enjoyed walking along the sea promenade to the cafés - and walking along the sea shore. I felt looked after and cared for by Sinead and Chris. Great cosy and clean room with everything you need. Black tea and a biscuit in the morning is a great way to start your day. Enough room to unpack your suitcase. I especially loved the desk with a mirror. All my questions were promptly answered. Highly recommend this guest house for your stay in Edinburgh.
