I enjoyed my stay immensely. Ollie was super welcoming and I felt comfortable from the first moment. The rooms and beds are big enough and have a homely feel to them. The breakfast is insanely good. Would recommend everything but definitely try the porridge with whisky, honey and cream. I'll definitely be back whenever I visit Edinburgh. Location is near the tram as well.

Tom and Rowena were great hosts. The room was perfectly clean. The breakfast was good and was served with a fantastic homemade sourdough bread baked by Rowena. They served a vegetarian option of the Scottish breakfast for us. I will definitely come back:)

Housed in a historic building, the recently renovated Straven Guesthouse provides accommodation with a shared lounge and free WiFi.

Chris and Sinead were incredible hosts and made us feel at home from check-in. The breakfast each morning was something we looked forward to each day. It was restaurant quality (wife asked for a recipe) and the soft background music (personal note here) was spot on. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The property is located near a bus stop, so getting around isn’t an issue. Lastly, it’s a 2 minute (max) skip down to the beach. It’s one block away.

The bed was extremely comfortable, the breakfast was excellent and host Lorna was so helpful in all ways. I stayed here as an overnight stop between flights in and out of Edinburgh Airport.

    Buscàvem un hotel per passar una nit al cantó de l'aeroport. I fàcil arribar amb el Tram. Hotel molt senzill, però ja era el que esperàvem: un lloc per dormir unes hores abans d'agafar un vol al matí. Només tocant un timbre a la recepció, apareix un taxi en menys de 10 minuts. Recepcionistes amables.
