With a great location just 1 km from the A34 and 1.5 km from Newbury town centre, the hotel has been refurbished to reflect its 17th-century heritage. We made a last-minute booking at the Hare & Hounds in Newbury, and it was fabulous! They followed up our booking with a lot of questions, including if/when we wanted a dinner/breakfast booking, what kind of tea we wanted in the room, and if we were celebrating anything (which we were). When we arrived, the staff were amazing and friendly and had our dinner/breakfast booking ready and had decorated our room for our anniversary! The room was obviously newly renovated, as was the whole property. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were delicious and again, the staff were very friendly. Their patio looked lovely, but it was quite stormy, so we couldn’t take advantage. We wish that we could have stayed longer, and have told our friends in the area about the hotel and restaurant so that they can pass it on to other visitors. We will definitely book here again when we are in the area. Thanks!!

A very friendly welcome by the owners, who did everything to make our stay absolutely fantastic. Very beautiful cottages that had all facilities you need as well as EV charging. Above all the breakfast must be mentioned, homemade and delicious!

Attention to detail with everything we needed. The owner was very friendly and accommodating with our late arrival. It was an exceptionally hot evening. The owner immediately brought us extra fans and invited us to use their pool.

The meet & greet the professional approach to good customer service. Paul ferried us to a local Pub/Restaurant that was excellent value for money(Leslie had pre-booked us) It was a Godsend. We had to departure early than expected due to forecasted storm warning 17th February, Paul gave us the correct information to get to East Midlands airport. Overall a great example of good customer care

Set in the village of Winkfield in Berkshire, The Winning Post is Hart is a premium village inn serving locally sourced produce on its modern British menu and a selection of ales, fine wines, and... Room was basic but good. It was all the things that matter that made it a joy to stay. Comfy bed, Hot high pressure shower, warm fluffy soft towels and a wonderful Pub/Restaurant downstairs and the breakfast was an unexpected bonus.
