The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in for years. Far better than my own mattress at home, which was an expensive one. So the hosts at South Lodge have clearly invested in making their guest comfortable. The breakfast was perfect, served promptly and hot. In every aspect of this stay, there was attention to detail and my every possible need was anticipated. Highly recommended.

If I could give the whole experience of staying at the Pig Inn more than five stars, I would! We were traveling down from Edinburgh and were going to be arriving late, so I called up to ask whether we might be able to eat at the restaurant. Eileen, (a gem of a person and member of staff - so much so, that my husband and I thought she owned the place!) said that, as the kitchen would be closing at 8.30pm, she could take our orders and the food would be waiting for us once we got there. She actually stayed on the phone with me and read out the whole menu for us to choose what we would like to eat! I couldn't believe it. The food was ready for us when we got there, and was absolutely delicious! Eileen made sure we were happy and comfortable and really couldn't do enough for us. She really made our stay so much more special and memorable. Thank you, Eileen! The premises themselves are immaculate and spotlessly clean and very very comfortable. I would highly recommend this property to stay at. I hope we return to the area because if we do, there is no doubt in my mind that we will be staying here. Bravo to all at the Pig Inn! A complete gem of a place.
