This place is an old 3 story house, but don’t let that turn you away. The house is excellent. The breakfast is soooo tasty. Tasty fresh eggs, and great full English breakfast. Best we have had so far on our tour of England. The rooms are cozy, the king bed was the most comfortable bed we have had so far. The shower had good pressure, and was steaming hot. The towels are large, thick and fluffy. Only a 12 minute walk to the city walls, it was great to get our ‘’steps’’ in. 🙂. The owner/manager was very accomodating and friendly. We parked on-site. A bit of a squeeze, but no complaints. The room we had was a king supreme room on the top floor. It was super quiet, and we had the best sleep so far on our road trip.

They were very accommodating when we requested an early arrival. They use refillable bottles and jars for drinks, milk, and bathroom toiletries, which is great for the environment, reducing plastic waste. A small fridge was in the room for us to use. It contained milk and drinking water.

Situated in Ridsdale, 48 km from MetroCentre, The Gun at Ridsdale features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Breakfast was excellent and location very handy to walks in Northumberland and if on one's way to Scotland.

Breakfast was fantastic, staff were extremely helpful and the location of the guesthouse to local wedding venues is great! We had a fantastic time!

Room was big, great view out onto the fields, extra chairs for watching television/reading, comfortable bed, very nice shower, small refrigerator with milk, variety of instant coffee and other drinks, some small eats, very quiet, great place. Close to small town for eating and 20 minute drive from castle

Exceptional passionate host and a very warm welcome. Sarah really made us feel comfortable. Very big and comfy bed. Good choice of breakfast. The place is quiet at night and very close to the city.
