Surrounded by nature, Fleur de Grog is a Shepherd's Hut and sauna tucked away in a peaceful Cornish valley. Hidden from holiday crowds, swathes of wild flowers and a babbling brook lay the scene for a truly bucolic break. Whether you’re a couple seeking a romantic getaway, or you’re keen to capture a slice of Cornish holiday magic, you’ve found it here. Designed from scratch and lovingly homespun, Fleur de Grog is completely off-grid. Here you’ll find all the comforts of home, with a savvy twist. The space Set in the grounds of our smallholding, overlooking the stream and fields, you’ll find nature at every turn, and quite often on your doorstep. Fleur De Grog is far roomier than your average shepherd's hut, with a mezzanine floor making it even more spacious. On the ground floor, you’ll find a large velvet sofa to kick back and wile away the time, a table and stools, a comfy day bed, and a Parisian-style kitchen. The hut is off-grid, with solar-powered lights, hot water (a blend of wood stove and solar power), an outdoor composting toilet, gas cooking, and a Yeti cool box to keep your wine nice and chilled. Relax in the wood-fired sauna, which is free to use for guests; and cool off in the outdoor shower. We've renovated the hut ourselves, and while it's bursting with character, you won't find a hotel-perfect finish. However, we've added in luxurious touches where we can, like high quality bed linen and towels. During summer take advantage of the BBQ to cook up your dinner, while in the winter a log burner can keep guests toasty. The bathroom includes a shower and sink, while outside you’ll find our custom-built composting toilet. When bedtime calls, make your way up the ladder to the upstairs sleeping quarters, where you’ll find a comfortable double bed and small reading area. Guest access We have a separate car park for your stay. Access to the hut is down your own private path. This can be a little steep, so please hold onto the rail.

Your hosts Nic and James live on the opposite side of the lane beyond the trees and can be on hand to help throughout your stay.

Ruthernbridge is a leafy, largely undiscovered part of Cornwall, with lush woodland walks, rolling fields and winding rivers for picnicking and, if you're feeling brave, a summer's dip. Access to the Camel Trail, Cornwall's best cycling route between Bodmin Moor and Padstow, is just a short drive away. Equidistant between both coasts, you'll find some of Cornwall's most beautiful beaches in a half an hour radius. The Eden Project is just a twenty minute drive, and the bustling market town of Wadebridge can be found 10 minutes from Fleur de Grog.
