A charming two bedroom semi-detached Georgian cottage located only a two minute walk from Olney Market Place. Set in a quiet gated courtyard off the High Street, Mews Cottage is stone built, Grade II listed and has been recently refurbished. The cottage offers homely accommodation comprising two double bedrooms, a family bathroom (bath and shower combined), a fully fitted kitchen, sitting room with a wood burning stove and dining area. Dedicated parking space available.
Located about 15 minutes by car from any of the centres of Bedford, Northampton and Milton Keynes, Olney is a popular Georgian market town which boasts an attractive market square and high street with small independent shops and cafes, a market every Thursday (and a farmers market the first Sunday of every month), river and rolling countryside walks, river swimming and a great selection of pubs, restaurants and take aways. Each year Olney hosts the famous Pancake Race, the inaugural race held in 1445. In 2023 Olney will be at the centre of commemorations to mark the 250th anniversary of one of the world’s most celebrated hymns, ‘Amazing Grace’. An in depth look at the life of the hymn’s composer, the Reverend John Newton, can be found at Olney’s Cowper & Newton Museum. Being centrally located - the shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways are all virtually on the door step. The river and rolling countryside walks are about 5 minutes away. Parking in Olney is free.
