Back of Beyond is a family run business owned and managed by us, Martin & Victoria Bowrey. We bought the park back in 2013 following the sale of our family home and business in London. At the time we knew nothing about the touring and glamping industry other than what we had experienced ourselves as customers. We had plenty of business experience though so knew the basics but based everything else on our instincts and created a park we would like to visit.
Our customer feedback over the years has been welcomed and we have listened to positive feedback and constructive criticism to hone the park to meet and often exceed our customers expectations.
We have a small team of loyal staff, who all live onsite and have become part of our extended family and offer the same level of personal service to our customers as we do. Our 3 young adult sons also regularly join the workforce during weekends and holidays running the bar and supporting our entertainment events.
We have won multiple awards and have just been voted a Top 100 Site for the 4th year running.

Are you looking for peace and quiet? Sometimes the birds can be a bit noisy, but that’s as loud as it gets at Back of Beyond! It’s an multi-award winning adult only, touring, camping and glamping park where you can relax and enjoy nature. Let the rustic, natural charm of Back of Beyond provide a tranquil base for your break or holiday. Staying here you can get back to nature and tune in to our ‘quality of life’ philosophy.
Enjoy simple pleasures such as listening to birdsong, stargazing on a clear night, walking through the 18 acres of woodland, sitting by our private lake or while away an evening watching the flames in your very own fire pit.
We take conservation seriously and our focus is on providing habitats for many species of wildlife, so we let wild plants thrive, while running our park with sustainability in mind.
We are dog friendly and allow dogs to stay with you in 5 of our 9 glamping units and they will love to explore our woodland off the lead. Plus you can give them a warm shower, or find them a special treat in our shop.
We have a licensed shop in Reception selling local produce, basics and treats as well as wines, beers and spirits. You can also pre-order freshly baked pastries for breakfast and buy freshly made tea, coffee and hot chocolate throughout the day.
Most evenings from April to September we have a visiting mobile catering van onsite offering a variety of take-aways across the week. These can be enjoyed in Monty's bar or taken back to your glamping unit.
We have an outdoor bar called Monty’s which provides plenty of seating and outdoor heaters including a log burner to keep you warm. Sit by the fish pond and enjoy a glass of something in a relaxing atmosphere, perfect after a busy day’s exploring. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome to join you.
Our fully licensed bar stocks local beers, spirits and wines. If you are in the mood for celebrating, then we also have champagne or prosecco. We are open April - September every night 4pm - 8pm.
