We own two traditional 3-bedroom log cabins - Ruskin Lodge North, 6 Lamont Lodges (two doubles & one twin) and South, 9 Lamont Lodges (one double & two twins). Both are cosy, well-equipped & comfortably furnished. Perfect for friends, families, couples and outdoor enthusiasts who are looking for a relaxing escape. The lodges are beside Puck's Glen and are surrounded by ancient forests, epic mountains, scenic lochs and bubbling streams. Guests are provided with hotel-quality luxury towels, bed linen and superfast fibre broadband at no extra cost, as well as household essentials such as washing-up liquid, cooking oil, tea, coffee and sugar. Families with children can use the travel cot, high chair, changing mat, baby bath, potty set and children's utensils, cups, bowls and plates. You can relax on a private, covered veranda and take in the surrounding forests and mountains. We regularly see red squirrels, many types of unusual birds and deer. The lodges are dog-friendly and, as we live locally and have a dog ourselves, we can offer lots of tips for walks and places for meals or a drink. Many walks start directly from the lodge with no need to get in a car or even cross a road!

We visited Cowal for many years and quickly fell in love with the area. We bought Ruskin Lodge North in 2013 with the idea of staying in the area and also renting it out. However, in 2015 we decided to move to the area and the lodge became a full-time holiday business. We bought Ruskin Lodge South (formerly known as Puck's Lodge) in 2021 and it is now completely refurbished ready to rent. We are now proud to think of ourselves as 'locals' and, of course, now we can provide even more information to guests ahead of their stay and be on hand to answer any questions. We know how important holidays are and are keen to make sure every guest enjoys their stay. We live a short drive away so can be on hand with any questions. The famous Puck's Glen walking trails begin behind the lodges and Benmore Botanical Gardens are a short walk away along a scenic track. The lodge is one of a small group that form the quiet, privately-owned Lamont Lodges which see many visitors returning year after year. Tourists 'in-the-know' stay in Cowal. It is a haven for wildlife with red squirrels, otters and rare bird species inhabiting some of Scotland's most unspoilt and dramatic landscapes. Within a small area you can explore sandy beaches, rugged hills, lush ancient forests and impressive mountain ranges. Dunoon is a fifteen minute drive away, with supermarkets, independent shops and leisure facilities. Pretty villages are dotted along the coastline and lochs. There are also an excellent range of outdoor activities, including golf, fishing, horse-riding, mountain-biking and stalking, and visitors can enjoy many cultural events including the Cowal Highland Games, the largest in the world, in August each year. There are some great restaurants, cafes and inns in the area as well as traditional shops, tourist facilities and indoor activities in the nearby town of Dunoon.
