Liked: STAFF: Continuously helpful, recomended a restaurant on our arrival (called'Foreign Muck') and was one of the best on our whole holiday. LOCATION: Amazing, on approach, from East, you see Brunel's last masterpiece a stunning bridge, and you stay in a pub just walking distance from it called the Brunel Inn, perfect :).

They were really very pleasant and helpful. Our room was comfortable and quiet. The landlady actually upgraded us to a better room, which was nice. The dinner menu was fairly typical for a pub and our choices were cooked as requested. I would have liked to see more choice of vegetables with the meal options.

We ate breakfast every day, the selection was good and enough to set you up for a day's wanderings. We ate in the bar every evening. The meals were consistently excellent quality. The bar staff were always pleasant and welcoming. The weary friar itself is a very old inn and looks the part. Low beams and creaky floorboards a must. Great 7 days as a base for our trips out and about.

Dinner menu was varied and catered for us normal eaters together with vegetarians, vegans and gluten free clients. Portions were vey generous. The bar was very well stocked and very reasonably priced. Our rooms were everything you could wish for, very comfortable and outstandingly clean.
