Set in Wells, 500 metres from Wells Cathedral, The City Arms features accommodation with a garden. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a private bathroom. Wookey Hole Caves is 2.2 km from the guest house. Free WiFi is available throughout.

The location is fantastic - Wells is small so as long as you’re in the town centre any location would be good. The building is old and quirky which means the rooms are full of character. They are also spacious and comfortable.

Nice clean rooms, very warm and cozy. It was a pleasant surprise to receive a packed breakfast as a bonus. We were mesmerized with a beautiful countryside, the building is very old, but well-maintained, and has its special charm.

Surrounded by views of the scenic Mendip Hills, The Highwayman Inn is situated in picturesque Shepton Mallet. It offers 14 refurbished en suite rooms, and free public on-site parking.

Hearty, traditional food is served in the inn’s restaurant and guests can enjoy a drink in The Highwayman’s acclaimed real ale bar.

Our room was excellent with a view to the hills and although overlooking a main road was very quiet due to the functional double glazing. The hotel is full of character with a comfortable bar area, friendly, efficient staff and a great English breakfast. On the night we were staying there was unfortunately no food available that evening but the landlord kindly suggested that the pub nearby might do food or we could get some delivered in. Large car park. We would definitely stay at the Highwayman again.

Built in the 1400s, The George & Pilgrim is the oldest purpose-built pub in the South West of England. Situated in Glastonbury, it is steeped in history and old tales.

The building has a panelled stone frontage, mullion windows, and old oak beams. All of its suites feature a TV and tea and coffee-making facilities, and some have impressively draped four-poster beds.

The atmosphere, the friendliness of all the staff and the warmth. The complimentary teas and coffees were excellent quality as were the toiletries. Superiority quality towels and the bath sheets were a decent size. The food was delicious and the portion sizes were not excessive.

The breakfast was nice (though not a huge portion). My bed was super super comfy and I slept so well! The room was very warm and cosy. Lovely dinner with fab portions, I had the veggie wellington.

We loved everything about the George Inn. Veryan and Peter were just incredible. The food was delicious - we enjoyed the steak night and the lovely home made ice cream. We were so happy that we found the George Inn.

Lounge, bar and bedrooms are good. Outside is very tired. There seems to be few staff so the waiting time for a drink at the bar was terrible. Food was poor although the carvery on Sunday was good. Dinner in the evening very poor. Hotel is not as good as it used to be unfortunately 😳

Really lovely 600 year old building right next to the cathedral. We were in a room overlooking the street but surprisingly it was silent at night. We had breakfast with a view of the cathedral and the member of staff couldn't have been more helpful especially with my gluten free requirements. We didn't have dinner at the hotel but clearly the restaurant was very popular as it looked full on a Thursday evening. There are several old historic inns in the town but the Ancient Gatehouse was special.
