The best inn I have ever stayed inn! It's a 1500s building and it is gorgeous and fascinating inside. So much to look at, lovingly and tastefully restored and preserved. See pics. Fantastic staff. I didn't use the pub / restaurant but it looked superb. I did have breakfast which was 10 out of 10, see pic. The location is in the heart of the historic old town, all the streets are narrow and quaint, I managed to find parking up the street, but the whole area wasn't designed for motor cars. Be aware that the many steep stairs are not suitable if you have mobility issues or heavy suitcases, so if that's you call them to discuss your options. See the pic of the paper they gave me to help me navigate the labyrinth! Overall the best historic property I have ever stayed in, and I have travelled a lot. Don't miss staying here!

El The Compasses, situado en la tranquila aldea de Littley Green, en el corazón de la campiña de Essex, es un pub victoriano lleno de historia y tradición. I loved the country atmosphere of the accommodation. Staff where very helpful and obliging.

El Public House, de gestión familiar, se encuentra en la pequeña localidad de Sheering y ofrece 12 habitaciones con baño. Amazing place, great people and hospitality, lovely breakfast. The personnel was very helpful, if you need to book a taxi and flexible so to stay in your room a little bit longer. We loved the vibe of this hotel. Overall, very clean and in the room you can fin everything you need, the hairdryer, iron even holy bible.

What a fantastic place, decor , facilities , food all to a very high standard. Lost of history dating back to 1500s. Floor tilting which all adds to the character. Shower room excellent to a very high standard. Food in the restaurant was amazing can’t wait to visit again. Great menu. Room very quiet, overlooking the church gardens.
