We slept like babies in the bed after a lovely meal in the restaurant and woke up refreshed before having showers to our next stop - will definitely recommend to everyone and eat/stay again. Situated in the quiet hamlet of Littley Green in the heart of the Essex countryside, The Compasses is a Victorian Pub steeped in history and tradition. Very friendly personal and quarters to feel comfortable. We liked the existing coffee and hot chocolate powders on the desk. Especially the breakfast was funny and delicious with this nice cook :-)

A clean and homely room with a lot of consideration for the guests, there were dressing gowns, soaps, good coffee and snacks etc. provided. Staff were wonderful and very friendly. It was a very welcome break when we had to stay an extra night at the airport. Great pub downstairs for socialising in the evening. Would definitely stay again!

We booked the Cricketers last minute and, although it was late at night and rainy, we managed to find the pub where we were quickly shown to our two rooms. They were both warm and welcoming, with every amenity you could want. My grown daughter was thrilled with her room which was designed with a bit of pink. Ours was a bit more woodland themed and very serene. The bathrooms were top notch and mine was perfectly handicapped accessible. I have limited mobility so I could take a shower without risks. The breakfast was amazing with food cooked to order and many other delicious options. The entire complex is perfect and I wish we could have stayed longer. Nearby market town was SO fascinating for shopping and food!
