Surrounded by countryside, this 16th century inn offers free parking on-site and free Wi-Fi access to all guests. It also has a bar and a restaurant. I was travelling for work in Coningsby, and was booked by the company. Sometimes rooms in pubs are a bit basic and noisy, but the Leagate Inn is definitely not one of these. Very nice pub, seems to have a lot of custom from locals which always bodes well, menu is not the biggest, but the food was really good, and they had a good specials board as well. I ate twice, both meals excellent, all staff were friendly. Room was amazing, clean, nicely decorated, sat on bed for a coule of minutes after getting there, and woke up 2 hours later. Really comfortable.

The Inn offered good value for money and was clean and comfortable. I'd stay again.
Extremely good customer service with a smile. Lots of attention to detail and checking that you are happy with everything. Excellent dinner and breakfast. Thoughtful extras like tea and coffee delivered to the room complimentary. Flowers inside and out help make it a beautiful place to stay. Best Lobster Thermidor I’ve ever eaten. I can’t wait to go back.
Excellent dinner with proper veg. Great breakfast.
Breakfast and dinner were very good. Location was excellent for visiting cathedral, castle and museums. There is a regular Walk and Ride bus shuttle service from down town up to hotel and cathedral quarter. Classic double room was quite compact but had everything you would need - kettle, coffee machine, fridge, safe etc Bathroom very spacious and newly renovated. Little gifts like local cookies were a nice touch. Staff lovely and friendly.
After an awful night at a guest house our two families of 3 and 4 booked in to the Vine. Rooms were lovely, clean, quirky and very comfortable. It was a little noisy with people in the bar downstairs overnight but this didn't disturb us. Dinner was excellent with great choice, tasty wellcooked food and very helpful staff.
The venue is wonderful and offers rustic charm. Breakfast and dinner were first class, and the staff were very attentive. We look forward to visiting again. This is a small wedding venue, but this did not interfere in our mini break at all. There is a lovely atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble.
Clean, comfortable, well-run guest house with good big rooms & bathrooms and very decent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Location is excellent, spitting distance from cathedral, castle, plenty of good places to eat (recommend Jew's House & Ole, Ole), pubs (recommend Strugglers Inn). It's a 15-min walk from the station but remember there is the well-named Steep Hill to climb on the way there!
Ive Stayed in many guest houses over the years ,but can honestly say ive never been offered a breakfast like you receive at Southwold. It was the biggest best cooked breakfast , in the most beautiful dinning room ive come across. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The guest house itself was beautiful, has was my room ,a short walk to the seafront at the end of the road ,perfect would definitely recommend 👌
We checked inn To be put in another guest house, breakfast was just cereal and toast which I paid 10£ per person as extra Totally disappointed with what I paid and to be put in another hotel I was shocked.
