The Anvil Lodge sits just off the main street, away from the hustle and bustle of the old market town, but an easy walk from pubs, restaurants and quaint shops. Mike and his wife could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. I enjoyed the experience greatly. I highly recommend it.

Historical building, the location was excellent, close to everything restaurants, shops, historical sites, about a mile to the railroad station. My room upstairs had 2 windows so I could leave them open for fresh air!. The restaurant downstairs in the bar was just excellent! We had lunch here. Steak and Ale pie is so good! The included English cooked breakfast or other choices, was just perfect. The coffee was excellent! The rooms are a bit worn but larger than average. Warning, there are no elevators here! We were up about 4 banks of stairs.

The Talbot Hotel is a 16th century coaching inn is a hotel located in the market town of Cleobury Mortimer, market town of Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire. Clee Hills is 7 miles away. We stayed here as it was an easy distance from Ludlow Castle for a concert. The Talbot Hotel is a great place to stay,! Best brekkie I've had in a while. The host and staff are very lovely, I wish we had been able to stay longer!
