Hotel in San Ignacio
Pine Ridge Lodge has a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in San Ignacio. Featuring a bar, the property is located within 18 km of Barton Creek Cave. It took me nearly a month to come back to write this review. Simply because the experience is so exceptionally good that I don't know where to start. It was a dream experience that we keep talking about even weeks after leaving the place. "I want to go back to Pine Ridge Lodge" is a recurring sentence we say to each other. We even day-dreamed about moving to Belize and joining Neil. I could write thousands of words about Pine Ridge Lodge but that would exceed the limitation of the review length. All aspects were beyond perfect so I won't repeat all the check-box questions and answers that were already provided by Booking. I clicked on the faces with the biggest smile for all the questions and still feel that the smile is not large enough to reflect how our stay was. Neil and José's hospitality and genuine vibe was out of this world. We absolutely loved the daily routine of starting the day with a delicious breakfast tailor-made for us, accompanied by the sound of birds, the sounds of wind blowing on pine leaves, the golden sunbeam shining on our food, having a day out and coming back in the evening welcomed with a delicious home-made dinner at 19:00 that provides a lot of comfort and peace, spending the rest of the evening having very interesting conversations with Neil, being introduced to his beloved chicken and hearing his fascinating stories, walking back to our room in the dark watching so many stars in the dark sky that you would otherwise not have the chance to see anywhere close to cities, and falling asleep with the constant soothing sound of the waterfall right next to our room. I still drool every time I think of the beef cooked by Neil in his high pressure cooker. Maggie, one of the two super cute dogs liked to greet us and follow us around that added extra joy. We also very much appreciated not having wifi except in the dining area.

San Ignacio
Beautiful property in the middle of the Belizean jungle- impeccable service, delicious food, beautiful lodging, great outdoor activities either onsite or close by. If you are going to Belize, you should schedule a few days in the Cayo district to enjoy the nature, adventure, and history. And this is absolutely the place to stay if you can get in.
San Ignacio
A beautiful, thoughtfully curated, totally wonderful jungle lodge experience. The owner, Claudia, has created a jewel, in the Cayo region of Belize. The food is fantastic, bedding some of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, and the personalize service is world-class. We plan to come back often, and won’t stay anywhere else in the area.
This hotel was stunning! From the welcome drink and scented towel upon check-in, to the beauty of the property, to the stunning decor and design of the room, everything exceeded our expectations. HIGHLY recommend this location! The staff was on top of their game and were insanely impressive!!!
It was the perfect choice for our first visit to Belize. The location was convenient and within a reasonable proximity to the tours and activities that we wanted to do. The food was simply delightful and well balanced with flavor and portion sizes. The rooms are great for groups or families looking to stay close together but also has a separate area for singles and couples which provides great options for any traveler’s needs.
It's a beautiful area decorated and planed with love. It's green and a beautiful pool is in the garden Sometimes a horse.
Lovely location, loads to do onsite, staff friendly and helpful
We liked the Suchi restaurant and hotel restaurant especially the cheesecake, staff performed above and beyond the call of duty, thank you all.
The beautiful place in every way.
Perfect location. Just remember you’re in the jungle, so there will be sounds at night. We spent 3 nights in the most remote cabin, we were the only ones in the hotel, so it was just us in the nature. Plenty of hummingbirds flowing around the hibiscus, we saw a group of wild little pigs one morning just under our window, lots of fireflies every evening at dusk on our way to the restaurant… quite magical. The vegetation is luscious, with lots of flowers and trees. There’s everything you need in the cabins, from water dispensers to mosquito sprays (we even had a hammock in our cabin!). The mosquito / bug isolation of the cabin is pretty thorough, but the bed mosquito net offers extra protection. The cabins are very spacious. There was a few fans. Shower worked fine. We enjoyed tubing / bathing in the river along the estate. With the free bikes provided you can ride to the chocolate farm grab an iced coffee or cycle to the blue hole, which are very nearby. The hotel also offers a variety of tours / activity. We did the nearby cave tour. The food was delicious. It’s a set menu but there’s hasn’t been one meal prepared by the cook we didn’t like / finish. The staff was so helpful and kind. Lots of little attentions, like flower petals in our room at arrival or for our last diner… and anything to make our stay more enjoyable. And after speaking to the staff, we found out that it’s a non profit place, and they’re actually helping local students. All in all, it was an amazingly relaxing stay, and it felt even better knowing you’re helping the local community by staying there.
We loved the serenity, the personal touches, warm welcomes and the ease of access from town (well, easy up till the driveway; but that’s just part of the adventure!) Jay and Christine were wonderful hosts! Not only did they make us feel like part of the family, they were able to give us wonderful suggestions of things to do, help us (and other guests) arrange incredible last minute tours and also made us delicious late night drinks and desserts. The property was beautifully maintained and you could feel the love that this family has put into it. Not only would we return to Gumbo Limbo without hesitation, we would also recommend it to anyone and everyone!
Chena was hands down the nicest person and best host. Honestly this is my first review for anything ever so that alone should tell you something... Book it, you wont regret it. Perfect location, very relaxing, no frills stay, Chena bends over backwards to ensure you stay is amazing! Thanks!!
next to the river, out from the main town. The hotel itself was very good, with spacious rooms.
