The greeting from Chris and Julie was warm and welcoming. A beautifully maintained Bed & Breakfast with a cosy homely feel. The room was spotlessly clean and the quaint furnishings complimented the setting perfectly. The Bed was very comfortable and there was everything you could possibly need to make your stay comfortable. Breakfast was delivered extremely well. Lots of choice with ceriels and juices followed by a full English breakfast, which was top notch. It was plain to see the fantastic partnership between Chris and Julie as they delivered the service always with a smile and what seemed like seamless effort and perfection. What really stood out for us was the hosting and the way we felt really welcomed and looked after. We will go back to visit The Southgate again that's for sure!!!

We had an excellent stay at Orchard Lodge. The hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We arrived tired and with wet boots and jackets and everything was quickly sorted, cake and tea was on the table. Bliss. A lovely quiet room and ten hours sleep and we were fully ready to tackle another day on the trail.
